It may still be a long time before the highly anticipated GTA 6 finally launches, but Rockstar Games has not been sitting idle with its currently running titles. With just a few weeks to go before Halloween season kicks off, GTA Online has already received a spooky new update that should keep its player base satisfied with terrifyingly intense undead action.

If going up against endless hordes of zombies is not incentive enough, Rockstar has also brought plenty of rewards that players can get their hands on by completing certain challenges, making Halloween even more exciting for the developer’s fanbase.

Just a couple of days after announcing the massive Halloween event for Red Dead Online, Rockstar Games has shared the details regarding the new mode that has been launched in GTA Online to celebrate the scariest season of the year.

The city of North Yankton in the Grand Theft Auto title has been infested with the undead, as they are now spawning from within the Ludendorff Cemetery for a brand new Survival mode, pitting the players against zombies as they try to bring things back to normal by defeating the creatures before it is too late.

Accompanied by a short trailer showcasing the mode in all its horrifying glory, Rockstar has also announced special rewards for the entire community if it manages to devour 80 million zombies within a given time frame, similar to how it has done in the past for its online multiplayer titles.

In addition to the regular-sized undead corpses coming at the player base from all sides, GTA Online players will also have to face “colossal juggernauts and possessed animals.” To become a part of the Halloween event, all players have to do is go to the Ludendorff Cemetery Survival marker on their map.

Rockstar Games Is Offering Plenty of Rewards to Players Who Can Survive the Zombie Threat

Regular-sized zombies will likely be the least of GTA Online players worries, as possessed animals are also thrown into the mix.

Aside from the rewards that players can receive together with the huge GTA Online community, there are also those that can be earned individually.

For starters, the Weekly Challenge tasks players with surviving three continuous rounds of the undead hordes without getting wasted, which will grant them a Gray Creepy Cat Mask along with $100,000 in-game currency to spend.

This offer, which will last until October 23, also includes 2X GTA$ and RP, and as always, GTA+ members will get special treatment and be eligible for some exclusive rewards that they can flaunt in the game.

The very first of these is a Mummy Outfit, which will be given to GTA+ members for simply playing the newly introduced mode this week.

Considering the dissatisfaction that GTA Online players were having with the Bottom Dollar Bounties update, the Ludendorff Cemetery Survival mode could be the breath of fresh air that the DLC needs to keep going until Grand Theft Auto 6 finally releases.
