SUMMARY
  • A newly announced joint venture by a popular YouTuber trio has not had the greatest reception.
  • Targeting children as its primary consumer demographic, Lunchly is making its entrance into the convenient lunch kit market.
  • KSI has responded to the massive uproar, following the justification provided by co-creator Logan Paul a few days ago.

Exactly one week ago, popular YouTuber KSI joined forces with two other famous creators on the platform, Logan Paul and Mr Beast, to continue their respective journeys in the food industry as a collective this time around. Announcing Lunchly, a snack kit brand that could have the potential to compete with long-standing companies like Lunchables, the trio may not have expected the kind of reaction that its joint venture has been garnering.

Facing plenty of criticism from various parts of the internet, including fans of the influencers and some major personalities, Olajide Olayinka Williams “JJ” Olatunji, aka KSI, has broken his silence on the matter, losing his patience in the process of responding to the critics.

KSI Says There Are More Important Matters to Criticize Than a Children’s Snack Kit

Within a few days of Lunchly’s official announcement, the newly revealed brand received a lot of backlash, prompting co-creator Logan Paul to address the situation on his X handle, which received even more flak from the general public, including Valve and Steam co-founder Gabe Newell.

As the momentum of the widespread criticism was showing no signs of slowing down, KSI took matters into his own hands to snap back at the disapproval that his latest venture has gotten, stating that it makes no sense to complain about something as inoffensive as a snack kit.

There’s way more crazier things happening in this world,” stated the Lunchly co-founder, believing that there are other important and much bigger matters that deserve this kind of negative attention than a convenient lunch box.

The critics did not stop there, counterattacking KSI’s argument by stating that many YouTubers keep targeting their brands and businesses towards a younger audience, raising concerns because of the perception built around the concept in recent times due to unfortunate controversies.

But it seems like there are enough members of the YouTuber’s fanbase that have shown up in support of the venture, agreeing with KSI’s opinion that the uproar definitely feels unwarranted.

Recently, there has been an increase in the controversies that involve popular content creators on different online platforms, which could be a huge reason why the reception to Lunchly catering to children has not been sitting right with a lot of people.

Fortunately for KSI, Logan Paul, and Mr Beast, there are plenty of fans who have been arguing in favor of their latest collaboration, with one major point being that parents can regulate exactly what they want to buy for their kids since they are too young to do so themselves in the first place.

Another argument mentioned that quite a few other famous YouTubers have been targeting children as their primary consumer demographic for ages, which may seem hypocritical when only a select few get called out for doing the exact same thing.

It remains to be seen how well Lunchly will be received when it properly starts its operations, but while many fans of the content creators are on board with the new venture, there are still those who are highly skeptical of the collaboration.
