SUMMARY
  • Blacklist was initially released in 2013, and it was the last installment in the Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell series.
  • For an unknown reason, Ubisoft, after 2013, shifted the focus entirely to other games and abandoned this popular series.
  • However, Microsoft seems to have measured the popularity and taken the right step of bringing the last game on Xbox Series X with some improved features.

Microsoft and Ubisoft are two gigantic names in the world of PC and console games. Though both of these companies received some hard hits in recent years, they also delivered some of the best gaming experiences. However, the current state of Ubisoft clearly states that those golden days are gone with back-to-back underperforming games in recent years.

Even though Microsoft’s situation is pretty unsteady at this point, the company still managed to survive these challenges with some classic games, including one Splinter Cell game that could also be Ubisoft’s savior if it hadn’t abandoned this series years ago.

Xbox Series X Has One Splinter Cell Game Running Incredibly Well

Splinter Cell might have saved Ubisoft from the downfall if it continued the series.

The current sufferings of Ubisoft are no longer a hidden thing, and the situation is getting worse with each failure. While Ubisoft fans are already accusing the company of deserving this consequence for not hearing their opinions for years, a few wrong decisions by the company also came to light amidst all these. Without these, the situation could have been much better.

Among them, one is abandoning the Splinter Cell series suddenly when its popularity was at the top. Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell is one of the most popular stealth action-adventure series developed and published by Ubisoft. However, after 2013, Ubisoft never released any installments.

Recently, after Microsoft’s second round of job cuts and Ubisoft’s tragic downfall, Jamie Moran posted a clip from Splinter Cell: Blacklist. Notably, it was a gameplay clip captured on Xbox Series X.

Though the game was initially released on Xbox 360 and was the last installment of the series, Microsoft has brought it to Xbox Series consoles with improved performance stats. As the post shows, it runs at 4K, with quick resume and instant loading.

Reactions from fans reveal that it was one of those golden opportunities that Ubisoft missed to end its struggle period. However, Microsoft took the right step to make it accessible to all Xbox console players with the possible improved features implemented.

Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Fans Are Still Hoping for a New Installment

Splinter Cell fans are still hoping to get a new installment of the series to continue the story.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist created a large fanbase years ago, and most importantly, players still expect to get a new installment of this series.

As this clip came to light, players started expressing their preference for this series, and especially, the last installment.

A lot of players were disheartened for not getting a new installment in the amazing series.

After watching the X clip of the game, some fans expressed that the quick resume is the best next-gen feature gamers can expect from games.

Some fans even tagged Ubisoft and mentioned that it’s the right time to bring the next installment.

Though rumors about Ubisoft working on the remake version of Splinter Cell have been circulating in the community for years, no official announcement ever came.

Instead, Ubisoft has now reached the edge where Assassin’s Creed Shadows has all the hopes, and with its failure, the company will likely succumb to a dense darkness.
