Space Marine 2‘s overwhelming success paves the path for Space Marine 3.

It’s been only a few days since Space Marine 2 was made available on Steam, Epic Games, and consoles globally. After four days of early access, the game started its official journey with 225,690 concurrent players on Steam on the launch day. With this record-breaking success, it has crossed Total War: Warhammer 3‘s record of 166,754 concurrent players.

It is the highest concurrent player number any Warhammer 40K game has ever seen. This is enough to raise the curiosity and demand for another Space Marine sequel. It’s even fair, considering the player count will likely increase in the coming days.

However, Saber Interactive’s CCO appeared with a new update saying the number would have been even higher if one considers “cross-play on for consoles.”

Well, Space Marine 2 has a full crossplay system where PC and console players can team up together in Operations mode and the main Campaign. However, the Eternal War mode is a little different, with only Steam and Epic Games players allowed to team up.

Warhammer 40K Fans Started Demanding Space Marine 3 Within 24 Hours

As soon as players finished the Campaign, they looked forward to another sequel.

Even before the game was launched, the hype was sky-touching, and with it now available to play, players have gone crazy. Aside from the PvP and PvE modes being infested with hackers and cheaters, the game’s run to this point has been pretty smooth.

Though the Campaign is not too long, it still takes around 12 hours to complete. It seems like players rushed through it as soon as the game was released. The notable part is that as soon as they were done with the Campaign, their demand for Space Marine 3 began.

This scenario came to the surface when on Reddit, Flamestrom posted that he had finished the campaign but still wanted to know more about the “secret assignment.

This led him to ask about Space Marine 3 even before Space Marine 2 crossed its 24-hour global journey.

The hype and the success pretty clearly suggest that another Space Marine sequel will likely come in the future. With the record-breaking player count, this possibility is getting stronger.
