Why Was Dr Disrespect Demonetised from YouTube?
After having a rejection from YouTube, Dr Disrespect is potentially making a new start, leaving behind all the controversies.
- Dr Disrespect was banned from Twitch in 2020, and YouTube demonetized his channel in 2024.
- His appeals to monetize his channel were all rejected.
- The streamer is moving to a new platform to start fresh.
Herschel “Guy” Beahm IV is mostly renowned as Dr Disrespect or, more simply, The Doc. This 42-year-old American gamer started his streaming career in 2010 with his YouTube channel, but after all the controversies that he has faced, it looks like his fourteen-year-long relationship with YouTube is at the edge of ending.
Whether it is YouTube or Twitch, none of these streaming platforms spare streamers and content creators if they violate the rules and regulations of these platforms. When it comes to Dr Disrespect, controversy is his last name it seems. Due to this, he has lost a lot of what he had earned throughout his career.
Controversies That Led to Dr Disrespect’s Downfall on YouTube
This disputed streamer got into different controversies a few years back when he went to attend the 2019 edition of the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles. There he violated Twitch rules by streaming inside the public restroom and it was the first time he got a ban from an event. However, he got his channel back later.
However, that was trivial compared to what was waiting for him. In June 2020, Twitch banned this top streamer suddenly without any explanation of what happened. That same day, Discord removed Dr Disrespect from its partnership program, stating that he had violated its code of conduct.
Initially, things were unclear to his fans, but evidence started emerging four years later, in 2024 as two ex-Twitch employees revealed that Dr Disrespect was accused of messaging a minor using Twitch’s whisper feature, and, of course, the message was improper.
Initially, this American streamer denied all the accusations, but later The Doc himself admitted that these claims were true, but he has settled things down with Twitch’s authority. This is the point where his downfall began. Despite this code of conduct violation not being related to YouTube, authorities didn’t spare him and his channel was demonetized.
YouTube Rejected Dr Disrespect’s Appeal to Monetize His Channel
The permanent Twitch ban and, most importantly, the reason behind this ban have affected the fanbase of The Doc to a great extent. He started streaming on YouTube as he had no other options at that point, but fans kept avoiding him.
The situation was not favorable, as no matter how many views he got during his streams, he wasn’t able to earn money because of this demonetization. Though he was getting donations from his fans, that wasn’t enough to get back what he lost.
A few months back, Dr. Disrespect confirmed that he applied to remonetize his YouTube channel, but a month back he stated that YouTube rejected his appeal, mentioning he should try again in sixty days.
After the initial demonetization, YouTube spokesperson Nicole Bell expressed that they suspended monetization of The Doc’s channel for violating their Creator Responsibility policy and were even banned from YouTube’s partner program.
Dr Disrespect Is Potentially Making His Way to Rumble
Even after all these controversies, the streamer has some dedicated followers who want him to start fresh on a new platform. Kick was a potential chance, but once again things got messed up, and current signs show Dr Disrespect is coming on Rumble.
Rumble is a similar streaming platform to Kick and Twitch. Here creators and streamers can create channels and monetize their content. When Kick is almost gone, Rumble is where The Doc may land to restart his career.
A few weeks back, The Doc, during a Call of Duty stream, hinted at him leaving YouTube as this platform’s authorities rejected his application to monetize his channel.
Recently, on November 22, the CEO of Rumble, Chris Pavlovski, fueled the thought by teasing a big creator’s appearance who’s going to trigger a new era.
While this has already made Dr Disrespect fans excited about him shifting to Rumble and cutting the knot with YouTube, the reports of The Doc making his Rumble account almost sealed the deal for his fans.
