SUMMARY
  • Asmongold, the popular Twitch streamer, got a temporary ban recently for improper statements.
  • Despite Twitch officially revealing nothing about this matter, sources state that it's a 14-day ban.
  • Followers of the streamer are not at all ready to digest the fact that he got banned for this reason.

Twitch is getting stricter with streamers who have high audience counts. Often, streamers get banned on Twitch. Sometimes, these are temporary bans, whereas other times, these are permanent ones. Most importantly, this Amazon-owned platform doesn’t even hesitate to ban streamers with millions of followers if they break the rules or violate platform policies.

Twitch’s community guidelines are clear and inflexible. The platform wants all the streamers to follow the pre-set rules; otherwise, they receive a suspension or get permanently removed from the platform. However, followers don’t always support these bans; at least Asmongold’s audience wasn’t ready for what he received.

Asmongold Got a Temporary Twitch Suspension for Improper Comments

Asmongold got banned for using improper words against Palestinian people in a livestream.

Renowned Twitch streamer Zack Hoyt, better known as Asmongold, received a Twitch ban on October 16, 2024, following his improper comments during a livestream. This streamer has two Twitch accounts, and his second account, which is named ZackRawrr, reportedly received a two-week ban due to his racist comment against Palestinians.

During his livestream, the streamer was talking about the Israel-Gaza war, and in a flow, he called Palestinians “terrible people” who come from “an inferior culture.” This has violated the rules of Twitch, as the platform doesn’t allow streamers to use statements that promote discrimination.

As a result, despite being one of the most popular Twitch streamers with millions of fans, he faced the same consequence that other popular streamers encountered for breaking the rules.

However, on Reddit, the streamer explained his side and expressed that his life requires some fixing. Regardless, he stated that his remarks about Palestine were not the sole cause of his ban.

He further highlighted, “I think I’ve just been increasingly more hostile and negative that brings a bad vibe to the stream.

No matter what the reason is, Asmongold’s fans are not ready to accept this matter easily. They are mostly against his punishment.

Annoyed Asmongold Fans Are Slamming Twitch for This Decision

Twitch is strict for all the streamers, though accusations of biasness were raised after this recent ban.

Rod Breslau first brought this news to light that this suspension is for 14 days, and mentioned that he got this news from his sources.

Some Twitch members feel like the punishment Asmongold has received doesn’t really seem all that bad, especially considering that the main account of the streamer is still active and it’s only his second channel that got banned.

Well, a group of his fans are not ready to accept that he said something wrong. According to them, all he stated were facts.

Some of his followers even accused Twitch of being unfair and biased against streamers and trying to suppress their opinions.

A few fans even questioned why the platform never suspended another streamer named Hasan for similar behavior.

Annoyed Asmongold fans are getting bolder in stating that this is the way Twitch reveals which country it is supporting in the war.

That’s not the entire scenario, though. A huge number of gamers and Twitch members are in support of the platform.

Some are even disappointed about the streamer getting banned for only 14 days, as they wanted a longer suspension as a punishment.
