Even with all the hype and anticipation that has been surrounding Black Ops 6 since it was officially announced, it seems like not everyone is completely on board with some of the decisions that co-developers Treyarch and Raven Software are making for their upcoming joint effort. Call of Duty has not been able to reach the heights that it once enjoyed for many years at this point, and there were hopes that maybe the next Black Ops could actually bring the glory back to the franchise.

However, with the recent reveal of one integral multiplayer feature not making it to the game, fans are wondering why the developers are going down this route.

Looping Score Streaks Are Not Coming Back in Black Ops 6

With just a few months to go before Black Ops 6 finally hits the shelves, the developers have kicked off a new episodic podcast to provide more details about the upcoming first-person shooter video game.

SUGGESTED: Black Ops 6 Looms and Call of Duty Players Look Back at Some Unfairly Treated Titles in the Franchise

During the first episode of the Call of Duty podcast, it was revealed that the next Black Ops will not feature the looping score streak system that has been a franchise staple for many years. Instead, the game will opt for a traditional score streak system, which basically means that players will no longer be able to fully receive the fruits of their efforts during a match because the kill streaks will just get reset with each death.

Naturally, the reveal has not exactly sat right with the community, with members calling it an unnecessary change, stating that it is actually quite rare to witness players looping their score streaks during a single life, and the loop system should have been kept for the minority who manages to pull it off.

The reason why Treyarch is removing the looping score streaks is to make Black Ops 6’s multiplayer mode a more balanced experience for everybody, as the developer is trying to stop players who keep spamming or abusing the kill streak option during matches, making them unbearable for weaker gamers. The team has also assured fans that if the majority of the community does not like the traditional score streak while trying the game out during its Beta test, it may reconsider its decision.

Is Treyarch Limiting Players Who Are Amazing at Call of Duty?

It is definitely not easy to keep looping score streaks during an intense Call of Duty match.

Although, to some extent, it makes sense for Treyarch to try and level the battlefield for even the relatively weaker players in Black Ops 6, some fans think that it is an injustice to gamers who are amazing at the game.

SUGGESTED: Relax, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Isn’t Going to Take up More Than 300GB of Your Console’s Storage Space

For example, there are plenty of ways in which the score streaks can be countered, making players wonder why the developers are limiting skilled gamers.

The main argument against the abandonment of the looping score streaks is that it does not encourage anyone to get better at the game, and with the kind of backlash that Treyarch is already receiving, it would not be surprising if the developer backtracks on its decision.

While Black Ops 6 is bringing new features such as Omnimovement to Call of Duty, the removal of franchise staples is making fans have second thoughts about the fate of the game.

As Treyarch gears up to launch the Beta test for the next Black Ops in late August, it remains to be seen how players will react to the traditional score streak system once they get a hands-on experience with the title.
