  • Additionally, this time, Activision is proactive in identifying cheaters during the beta to make the game enjoyable for players.

With every new installment, Call of Duty climbs to the top of the discussion, and Black Ops 6 is no exception. This installment is scheduled to be released on October 25, 2024, and when it comes to Black Ops 6 features, Treyarch has pushed all the boundaries.

While this game is about to bring familiar Call of Duty features, it will even have a few brand new additions, and the omnimovement will be among them. As its first phase of beta is currently running, players are getting more curious about this newly introduced movement. Amidst that, some development information about it came to light.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Omnimovement Was Made From Scratch

Black Ops 6‘s beta has brought the most anticipated global movement Treyarch has introduced to the Call of Duty series.

Previously, Call of Duty games generally allowed players to have forward movements, like they could jump, sprint, and slide in front. Now, breaking the boundaries, Treyarch is introducing this new movement style where players can jump, sprint, or dive in any direction.

However, the development process wasn’t easy. Recently, during the Call of Duty NEXT event on August 28, the developer revealed loads of things, including Mastery Camos, maps, and live gameplay.

At this event, GameSpot interviewed the senior director of production, Yale Miller, about developing this standout movement, and he expressed that initially, it was tough to shift from the Treyarch engine to the shared Call of Duty engine and learn all the new tools. However, it played a huge role in developing the omnimovement.

Because of this shift, the team had to “wipe the slate clean and start fresh” with the movements in the game. He mentioned that working on existing codes generally didn’t bring these innovative ideas of trying something new.

Fortunately, the Black Ops 6 team was forced to work on new codes to rebuild the movements from scratch. So, the omnimovement came into existence and became how it is because the team wanted to give it a try. Therefore, not the time, but the transition contributed to the development of this new global movement.

Activision Promised Players That It Would Work on Removing Cheaters During Black Ops 6 Beta

Activision is proactive in detecting cheaters in the Black Ops 6 beta to make the gameplay experience smoother.

Hackers and cheaters are one of the biggest issues that almost every Call of Duty game goes through. While Activision has Ricochet activated to identify the cheaters, the opponents are too strong to get caught. Instead, players often get banned even after playing properly without breaking any rules.

The issue persists with Black Ops 6 as well, but this time, Activision seems to be more careful in identifying hackers efficiently with Ricochet.

On X (formerly Twitter), it stated that it has been “testing features and monitoring telemetry” during the beta, and the anti-cheat software will be proactive to “stamp out illicit and compromised accounts across all platforms.”

The post reveals that based on the detections, the team will eventually make adjustments to make the gameplay experience better and remove cheaters.

However, players don’t seem to be convinced by this promise.

Previously, a lot of honest players were banned by Ricochet. This time, they are not ready to believe the anti-cheat software easily.
