Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2’s Devs Are Hopefully Ahead of 1 Soloplay Idea
Brothers Chairon and Gadriel deserve custom classes too, even during solo gameplay sessions in Space Marine 2.
With just under a month to go before Space Marine 2 makes its grand entrance, the Warhammer 40K fanbase finds itself surrounded by numerous discussions about what to expect from the upcoming title from publisher Focus Entertainment.
More than a decade after the original installment was launched, developer Saber Interactive is aiming to create a much more cohesive experience than its predecessor did back in 2011, and one of the main ways to achieve that could involve the way supporting characters are presented during the game’s wide variety of missions.
As the second Space Marine entry can be enjoyed both solo and with friends in a co-op mode, enthusiasts of the former have come up with a suggestion that was, hopefully, already a part of the devs’ approach.
What Space Marine 2 Could Do to Be a More Immersive Experience
As Space Marine 2 is set to continue the adventures of Captain Demetrian Titus, it would not be right for him to go on his missions alone, just like the original 2011 title.
SUGGESTED: Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 Could Be Without an Iconic Weapon We All Thought Was a Certainty
But this time around, Titus will be accompanied by Brothers Chairon and Gadriel for the entirety of the campaign, unlike the first installment, where some missions were carried out by the protagonist alone. The two fellow Space Marines can be controlled by other players as well, but for those gamers who like to take on challenges by themselves, a customization twist could make the upcoming video game an even more immersive experience.
Naturally, when players face Space Marine 2 and its missions solo, Titus’ brothers in arms will just be a couple of bots, but to give the supporting duo a unique personality of its own along with useful abilities in various scenarios, a Warhammer 40K fan thinks that they should be customizable as well.
That would avoid the possibility of Chairon and Gadriel becoming two generic and useless characters on the field, letting players create their preferred classes for them instead of the duo coming out to battle with basic stats.
Warhammer 40K Fans Who Like to Play Solo Want Custom Classes for the Bots
Similar to how the situation would be when players take on Space Marine 2 with a co-op approach, giving the Warhammer 40K community the option of creating custom classes for their supporting soldiers could go a long way in increasing their overall effectiveness.
SUGGESTED: Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 Needs to Include These 7 Weapons
As Titus walks around with his preferred customizations, it does not seem right if his companions are following him with “vanilla” builds, making them look and feel out of place.
The player who brought the suggestion forward can’t think of any negative that comes with this potential feature other than one being limited to the pre-game lobby, for which they mentioned another possible solution to make it fit more naturally.
Other members of the Warhammer 40K community seem to be onboard with the idea, and if Saber Interactive implements the custom classes feature, it would get even more fans on its side. For now, the developer and Focus Entertainment have been making quite a few right decisions, and if the action-packed PvE trailer is any indication, Space Marine 2 is handling things just as it should.
