Ubisoft’s Skull and Bones just went live a few hours back and immediately after that, this game has invited mixed reactions from the critics and players. The trailer and the beta version of the game received popularity, but after the official game launched, it seems players haven’t accepted it well. While the gameplay and some in-game features are getting praised, players have been pointing out different flaws as well that must be fixed. Even this game calls for some comparison with another Ubisoft game and a renowned series. The comparison results are shocking and somewhat ridiculous.

Skull and Bones Receives Its Comparison with Another Renowned Ubisoft Gaming Series

Since Skull and Bones officially launched, players have dived into the game to explore the journey of a Pirate life. However, the theme and the gameplay of the game, have brought comparison with another Ubisoft’s renowned series Assassin’s Creed. A recent X post compared Skull and Bones with Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag and revealed that the former received the worst facial expression.

@NikTekOfficial has posted a video comparing the facial expressions of characters from the two games and concludes that “Skull and Bones somehow manages to have worse facial animations when compared to Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag…” Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag was released in 2013, which is 11 years back.

The comparison comes because both games have lots of features in common. From sailing in the sea to exploring an open world map to fighting sea creatures, both these games have multiple similarities that can be easily compared.

The Twitter video clearly shows the perfection of facial expressions in the 2013 game and then how Ubisoft has messed things up in their latest released game. The facial expressions of the NPCs, especially, the Pirate Chief are hilarious. The cutscenes with the NPCs show low-quality lip-syncing and in most cases, the facial expressions of the characters don’t match the words they are saying.

Since the post went viral, fans have been agreeing with the @NikTekOfficial, and they are laughing and making fun of the game. Some of them even sarcastically called Skull and Bones an ‘AAA Game.’ Some fans went a little further and commented that Ubisoft is the only developing company that can go 50 steps backward in 10 years.

However, this comparison doesn’t end here. Another Youtuber takes it further by pointing out other features that make Skull and Bones the worst game when compared to Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag.

Other Skull and Bones Features That Seem Ridiculous to Players

NikTek has recently posted his video with a comparison between Skull and Bones and Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag. Where he compared several other similar features of these two games like ship driving, harpooning a whale, water effects, and many others. Surprisingly, in most of them, the 2013 game will blow your mind.

Additionally, this time Ubisoft has included no swimming feature that players used to get in Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. Well, that’s logical though. In Skull and Bones, players don’t need to swim as they can use their ships to sail anywhere in the sea. The YouTube video compared the water effects and there also the 2013 game gets better reviews.

As an open-world game, the 2024 game features invisible walls that stop players from exploring areas, but the 2013 game had no invisible walls and players can visit any location they want. Though the graphics of Skull and Bones are better than the Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag, still it fails to reach the expectations of the players to some extent.
