  • Players are surprised to see that the entire community is kind of silent about this DLC without showing any excitement.
  • This has brought another thought to their mind, which concerns the release of the upcoming The Elder Scrolls installment.

Tables are turning rapidly this year as renowned gaming companies are suffering rough times. After Ubisoft, Bethesda seems to have registered its name on the list with its release of Shattered Space, the first DLC for Starfield. This low response may affect the launch of its other upcoming big title, The Elder Scrolls 6.

Starfield created massive hype prior to its launch. However, almost immediately after the game was released, players became disheartened. With a Metacritic user score of 6.8, this game has been performing average, and now that it received its first expansion, players seem totally indifferent without any excitement.

Shattered Space Received a Blunt Welcome From Bethesda Fans, Increasing Danger for The Elder Scrolls 6

Starfield: Shattered Space failed to satisfy gamers as the base game did one year ago.

Despite Starfield not being one of the best games developed by Bethesda, it has made a stable fanbase that grinds the game on a regular basis. However, Bethesda tried to make up for the average reviews by releasing loads of mods and updates, but nothing really worked for it.

It’s only been a year, and already, the game received its first major expansion, Shattered Space, on September 30. But it seems like Bethesda once again failed to build excitement among fans with this expansion.

This even surprised the Bethesda fans. Players on X (formerly Twitter) started talking about the release of the latest Starfield DLC and how there’s no excitement among fans or discussion in the community.

Even on Steam, the reactions are ‘mixed‘ and not positive, just like the base game. This average performance of Starfield and players’ indifference towards Bethesda’s work looks like a red sign, which will probably affect the popularity of the upcoming The Elder Scrolls 6

Fortunately, this game is not coming this year, or even in 2025. Reportedly, the sixth main installment in The Elder Scrolls series will be released sometime in 2026. So, Bethesda has plenty of time to revive from the Starfield failure.

Gamers Revealed Dissatisfaction About Shattered Space and Its Gameplay

Starfield: Shattered Space‘s gameplay displeased the majority of gamers despite loads of new content.

Starfield: Shattered Space has brought a plethora of new content to the game. After the last update brought REV-8 to the game, the major expansion has taken things further with the newly added House Va’ruun questline, side quests, new enemies, weapons, and armor.

These should be enough to please the fans, but the gameplay failed to meet the expectations once again.

Some gamers who have tried the expansion revealed that the campaign is good, but quickly after that, the game becomes boring.

A lot of Bethesda fans expressed that they don’t care about Starfield or the DLC.

Players even posted the SteamDB chart to show that the expansion received mostly poor reviews from gamers and expressed that they stopped playing Starfield long ago because of frequent stuttering issues.

Amidst all these negative reviews, a few players advocated for the DLC and expressed that they are enjoying the newly added items and content.

Anyway, that’s not a satisfactory reception for an expansion, though expansions rarely generate hype like Shadow of the Erdtree did.
