Black Myth: Wukong brings fast-paced combat and gorgeous visuals to a grand adventure.

While every enemy the Destined One encounters on his quest to retrieve the relics of Sun Wukong brings something unique to the table, the game follows the tried and tested tradition of Soulslikes to present players with bosses that can be very frustrating to take on but highly rewarding to take down. However, one of Black Myth: Wukong’s secret optional bosses is taking things to a whole new level.

The Yellow Loong is among the game’s hardest bosses, wielding lightning and fire to great effect while using his glaive with deadly precision to send the Destined One back to the nearest shrine on nearly every attempt a player makes against him. With a massive health bar and a very aggressive fighting style, the Yellow Loong is proving to be a challenge that many players are relishing even as they find themselves rage-quitting the game due to his relentless attacks.

A Malevolent, Magnificent, and Memorable Boss

The Destined One’s story is one that players are sure to return to over and over again.

Unlocking the fight against Yellow Loong is a journey all on its own, with players required to beat three other hidden bosses to earn the privilege of facing him in single combat. Although rewarding, these bosses are designed to test Black Myth players’ skills, forcing them to use every tool in their arsenal in order to gain the upper hand.

However, it seems that Game Science has designed a game in which its players are only too happy to take on enemies like Yellow Loong with gleeful abandon, as showcased by the Reddit post below:

Other players were quick to respond with comments on how frustrating Yellow Loong’s varied move set proved to be while praising the boss’ design and excellent animations.

Another player pointed out a helpful way to counter one of Yellow Loong’s most deadly attacks, a tip that showcases the depth of Game Science’s excellent combat mechanics and attention to detail.

Another player summed up the discussion almost perfectly with their comment on how the fight may have been difficult but was very rewarding from a gameplay perspective.

It is a testament to Game Science’s efforts in making Black Myth: Wukong a title that can safely be considered a worthy addition to the Soulslike genre, considering how discerning its players are about new games daring to take on FromSoftware’s formula for action RPGs.

The Destined One’s journey has proved to be an adventure that fans of the genre will remember long after they roll the credits on one of its many endings.
