“This monke got hands!”: The Despair of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Players Turns Into a Source of Amusement for Bandai Namco
After getting attacked countless times by Great Ape Vegeta, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero players get hit with a jab by the game's publisher.
- Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has no shortage of powerful enemies, but Great Ape Vegeta is proving to be quite difficult to beat.
- Many players have reported getting destroyed by the Saiyan Prince numerous times, as he keeps on attacking without taking much damage.
- Publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment has hilariously taken note of the situation, making fun of the player base in the process.
Although there is still just over a day to go before Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero officially hits the shelves, the early access phase of the highly anticipated Budokai Tenkaichi installment has already begun, but despite the game receiving a lot of love from the fanbase, one huge hurdle has been hindering many of its members’ progress through its Episode Battle mode.
Serving as a recap of major moments and sagas that shaped the Dragon Ball franchise, veteran fans were already aware of the fact that they would have to face a gigantic enemy quite early on in their journey. However, the colossal enemy is proving to be such a menacing threat that even publisher Bandai Namco itself had to comment on the situation and make fun of the players going through the pain in the process.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Players Keep Getting Devoured by Great Ape Vegeta
Considering that the Ultimate Edition of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero was topping the sales charts even before early access for the game kicked off, plenty of players have already gotten the chance to dive into the nostalgic trip down memory lane that the Spike Chunsoft-developed title presents them with.
However, for the uninitiated, the very first saga of the Dragon Ball Z anime was called the Saiyan Saga, during which Prince Vegeta and his trusty sidekick Nappa invade Earth, resulting in Goku coming face to face with the duo. But with Nappa quickly going out of commission, it is up to Vegeta to take on Kakarot’s unfathomable power levels that he achieved by training in the Other World after dying during an intense battle with Raditz.
Realizing that his normal form is no match for what Goku is capable of, it does not take long for Vegeta to carry out his Great Ape transformation, and staying accurate to the lore established by Akira Toriyama, Sparking Zero ensures that players get to feel the sheer power that the huge monster carries with him.
While the game’s iterations of the fights leading up to the encounter with Great Ape Vegeta are not too troublesome, the enormous enemy has been giving players an extremely hard time, leading to them dying many times before finally getting the hang of the fight, with the post below being one perfect example of a fan being absolutely devoured by the opponent.
This level of frustration is just a single instance, as quite a few players have reported how brutal Great Ape Vegeta truly is, which has led to the publisher of the game taking notice and laughing at the entire scenario.
Bandai Namco Entertainment Rubs Salt Into the Wounds of Sparking Zero Players
Giant characters have always been quite tough to take on for regular-sized fighters in the Budokai Tenkaichi series, so it only made sense for Sparking Zero to continue the tradition and ensure that Vegeta’s Ape form was as formidable as ever in the latest entry as well.
The despair of Dragon Ball fans became so glaring that Bandai Namco Entertainment took to its official X handle and hilariously turned the situation into a source of amusement.
Accompanied by a fitting GIF of Great Ape Vegeta destroying Goku in combat, the post took a humorous jab at the fanbase and the troubles it has been going through against the Saiyan Prince.
For starters, no special combos seem to work while fighting against an opponent of such an immense size, leaving the players with only a few options as they try to keep their distance from the Ape and fire Ki Blasts and Kamehameha at him to avoid getting caught by his grip attack.
Of course, Great Ape Vegeta comes with his own set of special Ki attacks, as he wastes absolutely no time in throwing his iconic Galick Gun at Goku as soon as the battle begins.
The intense fight against Great Ape Vegeta is just one of the many offerings that Sparking Zero‘s story mode provides its player base with, and on October 11, even more fans will get a taste of what Kakarot’s greatest rival has in store for the beloved protagonist.
