“The biggest video game in franchise history”: Avatar: The Last Airbender Finally Getting the Video Game Adaptation It Deserves

Though the TV series ended in 2008, it left material for multiple Avatar video games, shows, movies, etc. The gaming series was launched in 2006 and was continued with multiple installments; reportedly, another one is already under development.
Saber Interactive and Paramount Game Studios are preparing something new for Avatar: The Last Airbender fans. As confirmed, the series is about to get an upgrade that fans have been wanting from this franchise for a long time.
Saber Interactive Is on Its Way to Make Another Massively Hyped Title
After Space Marine 2’s massive success, Saber Interactive’s renown has become more widespread. This time, the developer has decided to bring a new AAA game based on the beloved Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise. Notably, this is the first AAA game the franchise is about to get.
The Avatar: The Last Airbender series has loads of successful games that gamers must try at least once if they are a fan, but still, there’s something that players think the gaming series has been lacking throughout these years, and that’s a AAA game.
Granting this wish of fans, on October 3, Paramount Game Studios and Saber Interactive announced that they are developing a new action RPG in the Avatar Legends universe. Furthermore, this game will be made in collaboration with Avatar Studios, which was made to expand the Avatar Universe in 2021.
Though the game is still in the early stages of development and the developers didn’t reveal more about the game, Saber Interactive expressed,
“Our team members are some of the most devoted, passionate creatives out there, and it’s an honor to join forces with Avatar Studios and Paramount Games to further expand the Avatar Legends universe in video games.”
Following this, it expressed the hope that the upcoming game is going to be “the biggest video game in franchise history.” Furthermore, the statements confirmed that when the game will come isn’t yet sure, but whenever it comes, it will be released on PC and consoles together.
The Game Will Bring New Playable Avatar Characters for Fans
In RPGs, protagonists matter a lot, especially when the game is based on some renowned movie or TV show. So, when it’s the Avatar: The Last Airbender game, these expectations won’t change. While players have experienced these games from a certain POV up to this point, the upcoming AAA game is going to give them fresh POVs through new characters.
As Saber Interactive revealed during the announcement, the upcoming title will bring “an all-new, never-before-seen Avatar.” Additionally, it confirmed that the game will take place thousands of years in the past, where players can expect to be “immersed in a vibrant world, master all four elements, engage in dynamic combat alongside companions,” and more.
Aside from that, there will be challenges to face and decisions to make to progress through the game’s story, though the storyline hasn’t been shared during this announcement.
However, the only confirmed thing is that the story will have both new and familiar elements.
