Stellar Blade has achieved its peak of popularity within a week of its official launch. Indeed the controversies regarding Eve’s costumes worked magically to enhance its popularity among gamers, but the gameplay also deserves praise. The journey of Eve, and especially the battles she encounters thrill players. However, another thing that attracted the attention is the costume of Eve.

Eve has around 30 costumes to wear during her journey and all of them are uniquely designed to give the female protagonist a unique look. While players have been discussing their favorite costume of Eve, the game director, Hyung-Tae Kim participated in it, revealing his favorite costumes.

Cosmetic items are merely for the look in Stellar Blade. They don’t provide Eve with any unique abilities. Still, customization is one of the game’s most discussed and popular features, even before it was released. For game promotion, the game director recently sat down for an interview where he talked about a range of topics related to their latest game, and at one point his answer surprised fans.

While revealing his favorite Eve suit, the game director said that he couldn’t mention it as all the costumes were his favorites. Following that, he next expressed that the basic suits that Eve wears are his favorites, as he adjusted the designs himself. This is probably the regular Planet Diving suit he was talking about. For another one, he mentioned, “The skin suit that Eve is wearing when she takes off other clothes was designed 10 to 15 years, so I personally like that one too but it does not fall under the category of clothes. And I really wish you guys would play Eve with clothes on.”

This reveals that the game director has been closely attached to the design of Eve and how long it took for them to plan and develop Stellar Blade. After this interview has been published, players have started a petition for the uncensored version of the game so they can go through the original promos. Well, that’s a difficult demand, indeed.

Even controversy has been created about this statement and demand. Some players assume this is a business scheme by Sony to hamper the sale of the game and thus acquire the developers of the game. Anyway, that’s an assumption.

While assumptions and rumors have been surrounding this entire thing, Shift Up used this opportunity to thank fans.

On May 1, the Stellar Blade official Twitter account posted, “Thanks to all our Stellar Blade fans for your passion & feedback. Stay tuned for updates.” Sony and Shift Up have gotten into a conflict since Hyung-Tae Kim talked openly about the reason behind making Eve a bold character. Sony demanded to take it down, but this statement massively appealed to the fans.

Whether this decision of censorship will be reversed or not can’t be told at this point. Fans are demanding this withdrawal, but the decision is on Sony. The Stellar Blade community needs to wait to see the consequences of this protest. For now, there’s no reaction from the publishers.
