Arguably Bethesda Game Studios’ most ambitious project ever, one of the main drawing points of Starfield was that its in-game world is absolutely massive, with more than a thousand planets to land on and explore, in addition to the various moons and space stations that were also explorable.

All of these surfaces are divided into numerous star systems in the game, many of them named after real-life scientists, but with so many places to go to, it can definitely get a bit overwhelming to keep track of all of them without some sort of indicator that shows these stars on one simple screen.

Fortunately, although it has taken nearly a year for some players to figure it out, the Starfield map actually comes with an option to display the names of all the star systems on the map, and it has made the traveling aspects of the Todd Howard-directed title much more convenient.

Although Starfield didn’t exactly have the greatest reception at launch, Todd Howard and Bethesda kept their belief in its potential alive, keeping the game going with quality-of-life updates and an upcoming DLC that could change its long-term fate.

One of these QoL additions that made its way into the title months after its initial release was the option of displaying all of the names of the star systems that players can head on over to for exploration. However, not many players seemed to be aware of the feature’s inclusion on the Starfield map, leading them to share their newly found revelations on the game’s subreddit with the rest of the community.

It turns out that players no longer have to go on their next space adventure completely blind, hoping to find a specific star system and the planets it includes, because with just a single button, the map shows the exact names and locations of all of the stars in Starfield. PC players can hold the ALT button on the star map screen to display the names, whereas Xbox gamers can do the exact same thing with the RB input.
