Starfield Mods Could Be Another Example of the Mistakes Bethesda Made With Skyrim and Fallout
Starfield players are not happy with Bethesda's official mods, which, according to them, make the game more dull and unplayable.
- Starfield is one of those games that disappointed players massively after it created high hopes.
- Bethesda's tendency to add official mods to action RPGs seems to not be appreciated by players, as they think they ruin the experience.
- After two of the most renowned Bethesda titles, players find the developer ruining Starfield with mods.
Starfield was one of the most anticipated games of 2023, and players expected a lot from the game. However, the game disillusioned fans to a great extent as soon as it was released. Anyway, there may be better Bethesda games than Starfield, but it still has a fanbase that grinds the game regularly. Therefore, fans have feedback to give as well.
Bethesda loves to add new mods to its action RPGs that are supposed to improve the experience of the players and balance the gameplay. However, only sometimes mods behave as expected. Therefore, complaints often arrive, and players expect the studio to avoid repeating the same mistakes it has made with Fallout 4 and Skyrim.
Fans Wish Bethesda Learns From Previous Mistakes and Doesn’t Repeat Them in Starfield
Bethesda seems to be very serious with all its games, and often it brings official mods to the games to make them more exciting. Well, this trick works pretty well, but sometimes these mods pathetically fail. At least when it comes to Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the official mods didn’t satisfy players even a little.
Surprisingly, when the developer focused on Starfield and started adding mods to the game, a lot of players opined that Bethesda had been repeating the same mistakes. A few days ago, a community player took this to Reddit and mentioned that “one of the biggest issues was game balance and integration” when the developer added mods.
He argued that both Fallout 4 and Skyrim had lots of official content, but mods ruined them entirely. According to him, these mods instantly boost the power of the in-game characters, regardless of their level, and provide them with powerful gear.
He stated that this may not be a problem for high-level characters, but “that sort of thing is bad for gameplay and bad for immersion in new characters and players.”
Fans Almost Unanimously Agreed on the Same Point That Bethesda Ruins Balance With Mods
Almost every Bethesda game, especially action RPGs, is heavily modded. Even Starfield has multiple official mods to make the gameplay better. But it seems like what Bethesda expects and what players experience are poles apart.
While the Reddit post initially mentions this matter as a mistake, a lot of players find it intentional, and some even brought up the example of Skyrim’s “Hearthfire-only ingredients” to establish the point.
Players even feel that heavily modded games ruin the consistency and balance of the gameplay.
Some players didn’t forget to mention the Gravis suit, which most players acknowledge as one of the biggest mistakes Bethesda ever made.
It seems like fans have lots of complaints regarding the official mods Bethesda brings to its games.
However, there’s no way to completely avoid mods unless the developer stops adding them.
While waiting for further updates, don’t forget to check out one Starfield controversy that once again surfaced as Bethesda never addressed it.
