The Star Wars franchise is going to launch its very first open-world game. To everyone’s surprise, there are more features to make it one of the best games released in 2024.

Scheduled to be released at the end of August, Star Wars Outlaws has already created a fanbase for its look. This game will bring loads of new areas to explore that none of the other games in this franchise have ever offered. But a recent interview with creative director Julian Gerighty reveals something exciting.

Star Wars Outlaws Is Taking a Jump, Which Could Surpass Hidetaka Miyazaki’s Elden Ring

Star Wars Outlaws is going to challenge Elden Ring with one of its features that the latter hasn’t yet included

Open-world games are in general more popular, as players love to roam around and explore hidden secrets. Therefore, as the first open-world game in the franchise, Star Wars Outlaws has high expectations to meet.

While the promotion has been going on for a long time, recently, the creative director of Massive Entertainment appeared for an interview with IGN, and during the conversation, he confirmed that the upcoming Star Wars installment is going to have ultrawide display support from the beginning.

This statement has created a huge stir among the Star Wars community, even among Elden Ring fans. Elden Ring is almost unparalleled as an open-world game, with numerous locations to visit and secrets to explore. But even this game won’t run on an ultrawide display without a mod. Experiencing a vast open world with an ultrawide display hits different notes, and gamers are always willing to have this experience.

Featuring an ultrawide display is a clear indication that Massive Entertainment is aiming high with its upcoming game. Prior to its official release, multiple exciting features have been revealed to increase the hype.

Star Wars Outlaws Will Feature a Blank Map Without Icons to Hide the Secrets of the Planets

Star Wars Outlaws won’t reveal the entire map at once. The more players explore, the more the map will become visible.

Though there’s more than a month left before the game officially comes, players have already received some glimpses of the in-game world, which is enough to increase expectations.

During his interview, game director Mathias Karlson talked about a range of topics, and among them, he revealed some details of the maps and what to expect from its open world. In this session, the game director expressed that the maps will initially be blank without POI and other things marked on them. Until the protagonist explores the area, no information will be revealed. He stated,

Kay hasn’t seen the galaxy, she doesn’t know everything. The first time you come to Toshara you’ll have a map where you can see mountains over there and stuff, but discovery is what gives you more information.”

In this conversation, the creative director has added that players need to take some risks. In that fog of mystery, players need to follow the voices they hear, and they will be the guide for Kay to travel from one place to another.

This game is a big challenge for the team, but the developer seems to be well-prepared for it. There’s still time before the game releases. So, in the meantime, players can gather information about other updates, like the latest announcement Mortal Kombat 1 has made to maintain its fanbase.
