SUMMARY
  • It's been almost a year since Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was released, but no expansion or DLC has yet been announced.
  • The latest State of Play also broke all the hopes about the DLC, but fans are still with Insomniac Games about not rushing to release a new installment or expansion.
  • Aside from that, after two years of silence, Hell is Us suddenly launched its first official trailer at PlayStation's State of Play.

Marvel’s Spider-Man is one of Sony’s widely acknowledged gaming series, and within a month, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will reach its first anniversary. Naturally, a significant group of players have been expecting a DLC to celebrate the anniversary, and they expected the latest State of Play to show the trailer. Unfortunately, all the hopes were shattered.

Despite the rumor of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 DLC in progression, Insomniac Games never talked about the DLC or whether it is really working on any Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 expansions at all. Even the PlayStation State of Play showed no Spider-Man trailer. While this is utterly disappointing, some fans have taken it sportingly.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Fans Are With Insomniac to Get the Best Game Possible

Sony’s State of Play event didn’t feature any Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 DLC, which disheartened fans.

Before PlayStation’s State of Play happened, loads of rumors were circulating among the community members about what the event could bring. However, some of these came true, including a possibility that fans assumed about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 DLC. Disappointing them all, no announcement appeared about the DLC.

Maybe the DLC is canceled; that’s what fans assumed instantly after the event ended. That’s indeed heartbreaking for them. Anyway, surprisingly, this heartbreak didn’t result in them blaming Insomniac. Instead, fans are with the developer.

A few are expecting that there’s still time for The Game Awards and the DLC will come before that.

Moving aside from that, a group of fans opined that if the DLC is canceled, there’s no harm. Rather, Insomniac can now work on bringing Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 in place of a DLC. They are not even upset about the DLC not making its appearance at the State of Play.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has set a high standard with its storyline and gameplay mechanics. It looks like players don’t want the developer to compromise on the quality and bring an unpolished DLC. Instead, they want Insomniac Games to take its time and release the “biggest Spider-Man game ever made” after it is complete.

Though Spider-Man fans are disheartened, Sony is trying to compensate them with some other exciting announcements.

After Two Years of Silence, Rogue Factor Released the Official Trailer for Its Upcoming Game

hell is us protagonist fighting the enemies
After a long wait, Hell is Us finally received an official trailer at State of Play.

In 2022, the art director of Hell is Us, Jonathan Jacques-Belletete, first revealed the new project the team was working on. According to his statement, the game was expected to be released in 2023, but of course, that was not the case. Even in these two years, there was almost no news of the development of this third-person action-adventure game.

Surprisingly, the first gameplay trailer of this game was released at PlayStation’s State of Play, where the visuals and gameplay look satisfying. The protagonist of the game is on his journey to learn about his past, and during this journey, he eventually explores the semi-open world of the game.

The trailer looks similar to the Dark Souls games, but the developer successfully delivered the horror vibe.

Anyway, nothing much is revealed about the game and story, as the team probably has chosen the old-school method of keeping things secret until players explore those during their playthrough.

The release date of the game isn’t yet revealed, but it will come sometime in 2025. For now, players can wishlist the game on Steam.
