Skull and Bones is Proving to be the AAAA Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League of this Month
Ubisoft’s Skull and Bones and Rockstar’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, share multiple similar aspects, but the catch is none are on the positive side. Both these games have changed the impressions of the respective studios. After a long wait, Ubisoft finally released Skull and Bones this February and this game welcomed mixed reactions from the players and critics.
A few weeks back, Rockstar launched one of their most-hyped games of the year, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and unfortunately, this game failed to meet the expectations of fans. Now after the Skull and Bones experience, it can be no surprise to wonder whether these games going on the same path.
Latest Fan Reactions Show Skull and Bones Following Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
Like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Skull and Bones took a long time to be developed and fans have been expecting a lot from the game. Unfortunately, since the game was released it has been receiving negative reviews from players. Mostly, it was criticized for its combat, gameplay, storyline, and several other features. On every social platform, fans have been expressing their frustration. A recent X post (formerly Twitter) revealed the same scenario.
The wood-cutting feature has been criticized and other players agreed with him. In Skull and Bones, no real-life harvesting system is introduced. Everything players need to do is from their ship. They have to play a mini-game to harvest resources, which players find dissatisfying. About this issue, some expressed, “A decade of development to make such a game.”
Another player commented, “This game is a flat out embarrassment compared to the quality of indie games coming out….” It seems that no one is happy with the game experience.
Just like Rockstar’s title, this one also proved to be a disaster this year. While the Batman: Arkham series is one of the best Rockstar series, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, scored 62 on PS5 and got around 13,459 player count on Steam.

Players Comparing Skull and Bones to Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag
Since the beta version of the game went live, players have been comparing Skull and Bones with Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, one of the memorable Ubisoft experiences. Both these games have some gameplay similarities which becomes the points of comparison. But here also, the latest Ubisoft game failed badly. In comparison to the 2013 game, players find the facial expressions of the 2024 game characters, hilarious. Their expressions don’t match the words they say.
Apart from that, players are not happy with the ship-boarding animation, as there are no ship-boarding actions in the game, only cutscenes show that. Skull and Bones doesn’t give players any off-boat fight and the arcade-like combat is not satisfying to them. Moreover, they complain about not having an engaging story, sound effects, and exploration system.
Skull and Bones divided players into two groups where one group scolds the other for having unrealistic expectations from a game, but overall, the criticism side of the game is heavier.
