“Riding the coattails of two consecutive GotYs”: FromSoft’s Latest Achievement Nothing More Than Elden Ring and Sekiro Leftovers
A new achievement has been added to FromSoftware's inventory.
Hearing FromSoftware immediately brings to mind one of the greatest action RPGs of all time, Elden Ring. Aside from that, this Japanese video game company has delivered loads of successful games, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is definitely among them. However, these two games have set a strong background for the new FromSoftware games that even help not-so-good ones, at least according to players, to reach a certain peak.
Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is a game by FromSoftware, released in August 2023. This game has completed almost one year successfully with a stable fanbase. Though this game differs from Elden Ring or Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, this game has received a new achievement that has surprised players.
Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon Has Created an Unexpected Selling Record After One Year of Its Release
Though Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon never touched the amount of popularity that the other two mentioned FromSoftware games got, it still has attracted the attention of players worldwide to a great extent. However, according to a recent post, this game has created a record of more than 3 million sales.
The official Armored Core X account has shared this news with fans, but Elbethium shared a different point of view about this matter. They posted that this is one of the most mediocre games they’ve ever played. The game has too many problems that must be fixed, but the community players have yet to mention them.
Therefore, according to them, these massive sales are only because of “riding the coattails of 2 consecutive GOTY awards.”
In the reply section, other players shared their opinions, and a lot of them differed from what they said. However, one thing players are sure of is that these sales are nothing when it comes to Elden Ring.
Shadow of the Erdtree Has Reached a New Sales Peak as a DLC After Its Release
Elden Ring is one of the best games FromSoftware has ever released. While this game has created several records, the DLC is not far behind the base game. Shadow of the Erdtree was one of the highly anticipated games of this year, and even before the game was released, it had already made its place among the top FromSoftware games.

Not only that, but after its release, Shadow of the Erdtree has reached over 5 million sales within a month. It has even given the sales rate of the base game a boost, which helped it cross 25 million sold copies since it was released in 2022.
Even Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has cleared 10 million copies, as the reports up to September 2023 stated. Therefore, no matter how impressive Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon’s sales look, FromSoftware has masterpieces that can never be suppressed by other sales figures.
Well, players’ curiosity about Elden Ring is kind of never-ending. However, the game doesn’t have any guns. To make the game unique, a mod introduced a Call of Duty weapon to use trick shots on enemies from a distance.
