“Remember Starfield?”: Despite a Stellar Xbox Games Showcase Trailer, Starfield: Shattered Space Doesn’t Do Much More Than Remind Fans of the Disappointment Starfield Was
Will Bethesda be successful in winning the hearts of fans?
Xbox Games Showcase was a great hit this year, with lots of cinematic and gameplay trailers for upcoming games, including Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Perfect Dark, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, etc. Not every game has satisfied the expectations of the fans, but none has probably disappointed fans as Bethesda did with its Starfield: Shattered Space presentation.
Starfield was a highly hyped game of 2023, but the situation turned towards the worst when fans started stating the game as one of the disappointments in Bethesda’s history. It was not a disaster, but it failed to meet the expectations of the fans. However, players have been expecting a lot from the upcoming expansion, but again, their hope got a hit at the Xbox Games Showcase last Sunday.
Xbox Games Showcase 2024 Has Disheartened Starfield Fans With Bethesda’s Presentation of Shattered Space
This weekend, on June 9, Bethesda added a bunch of new stuff to Starfield, including new information about the upcoming Shattered Space expansion and the Creation Club content as part of the Xbox Games Showcase event. Even a free update was announced. Up to this part, things were right, but players got furious when they found out the most important information was still missing.
Like several other games at the event, Starfield didn’t provide players with a release date for the Shattered Space DLC. The Shattered Space expansion was announced long ago, and players had been expecting the official launch date during the event, but again, they faced disillusionment.
Another fan commented on a Starfield post on X, saying why a DLC that was announced over a year ago can’t have a release date yet.
As Bethesda announced the expansion to be released this year, a fan questioned it about defining the year.
However, that’s not the only thing. Players are even angry with the Starfield: Shattered Space expansion for another announcement.
Disappointed Players Blamed Bethesda for Scamming Them With Expansions and Updates
Bethesda has prepared lots of new information to provide about Starfield at the Xbox Games Showcase. It announced the addition of some of the most demanded features, like mod support, ammo crafting, melee weapon upgrades, and a Trackers Alliance bounty. This Trackers Alliance bounty has immediately attracted the attention of the players. But as soon as they got the catch, players started slamming Bethesda.

The free update the game talked about only has the first part of the quest. The second part is locked behind the newly introduced Creation Club, and the unlocking process requires 700 Creation Club Credits. That’s not all. These Credits can only be purchased, and the price range varies from $1 to $10.
The most outrageous part is the second part of the quest, which players will unlock using $10, has only a little content that requires around 15 minutes to be completed. Of course, players aren’t happy with this, and according to many of them again, Starfield is going in the wrong direction.
Well, at this point, there’s nothing players can do. Neither do they have the power to change the pricing of the bounty, nor can they force Bethesda to give a release date. So, while waiting, it is better to check out the biggest reveals of the Xbox Games Showcase 2024. If you have missed the event, it will give you a complete recap.
