Path of Exile 2's early access was almost at the door when an unexpected delay hit the game and postponed it.
- Path of Exile 2's early access was scheduled to be released on November 15.
- An unexpected delay hit the game, and it is now a little more away than expected.
- However, the community is totally okay with this decision considering the reason.
Path of Exile 2 is coming this year, but on a different date than was initially announced. It’s only over one more month before we welcome another year; at this point, a lot of games are in the queue to be released in November and December. Path of Exile 2‘s early access is in the queue, but it keeps getting pushed.
The original game was released in 2013, and after it reached substantial popularity, Grinding Gear Games started working on the sequel, which was initially announced in 2019. The development took five years, and when the early access was near the scheduled launch date, fans received a piece of heartbreaking news from the developer.
Path of Exile 2 Is Not Coming in Mid-November but Postponed to Early December
Path of Exile 2 is going to continue the story that the base game introduced more than a decade ago with some new elements. Therefore, the excitement among fans is pretty high, especially after the previews of the upcoming game received positive reactions.
Initially, the game’s early access was scheduled to come on November 15, but on October 29, game director Jonathan Rogers took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce that it will come on December 6 instead.
Of course, the announcement is not an abrupt one without shedding any light on the reasons. After begging for pardon from the community, Rogers stated,
“I actually believe that we could possibly have made the original launch date. but I’m no longer confident we could do it without making mistakes.”
The team wants to make the experience as perfect as possible with every feature and mechanic working exactly as it should, so that “nobody loses anything they paid for, and nobody has their account broken.” This is the reason the team made the decision to delay the early access.
Fans Stand With Path of Exile 2 for Trying to Make the Game Perfect
November is going to be a big month for gamers, especially for PlayStation players, as the long-awaited mid-gen update console will finally launch. A lot of other titles will also be released throughout November. Therefore, initially, it was expected that Path of Exile players would be disappointed by this delay.
However, the scenario is completely different, as players clearly stated it is better to take time than to bring an unpolished game.
Some fans even asked the team to take more time if required, and they will wait for the game.
The community showed full support to the Path of Exile 2 team and conveyed its trust in it.
Despite the early access being a little far away now, players will get a livestream in four weeks to see what they can expect from the upcoming sequel to the 2013 game.
Until now, it’s only been revealed that the game will have six acts and 12 character classes to choose from.
Additionally, it will have more than 100 maps and respective bosses to take down.
