Recently, the Global Community Manager of the game appeared to participate in one of the most trending controversies of recent times.

Skibidi Toilet and Garry’s Mod Involved in a Controversy That Caused a DMCA Claim

The Skibidi Toilet and Garry’s Mod controversy has been resolved, but still, a lot of questions remain unanswered.

Garry’s Mod is one of the sandbox games released in 2006 and designed by Garry Newman. Initially, when the game was released, it had no set objective or storyline, but it used to take players to an alien world where they were free to explore things. However, this game has been going through a rough time.

In April 2024, Garry’s Mod creator Garry Newman announced that all the Nintendo-related content will be removed because of the copyright takedown requests from the company itself.

Within three months, in July, once again, Garry’s Mod faced some turbulence. This time, it’s not from any platform, but from a series. On Sunday, Garry Newman used his Discord server to share a screenshot and told fans that he got hit by a new DMCA from Skibidi Toilet. The notice that he shared clearly mentioned that:

Titan Cameraman, Titan Speakerman, Titan TV Man, and Skibidi Toilet are all registered copyrights that are unique and representative of our brand.

This controversy took a new turn when, hours after Newman announced taking down content, DaFuq!?Boom!, the creator of Skibidi Toilet, claimed he didn’t issue any DMCA. However, later, things were resolved as Newman cleared up the fact that it was a DMCA from the previous year.

On July 30, the global community manager addressed Garry, Valve, and Gabe, stating:

Considering how ridiculous the situation is, it was only a matter of time before it became a meme itself on the internet, and the Palworld community manager’s reaction is likely how the Garry’s Mod fanbase feels.

In the meantime, don’t miss Palworld updates, like how the community manager thanked streamers and gamers for the success of the game.
