One Call of Duty Game May be Heading to Xbox Game Pass Imminently If the Newest Update is Any Indicator
Call of Duty and Xbox Game Pass are hot topics in the gaming world. Players have been demanding for the Call of Duty games on Xbox Game Pass for a long time. After Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, the demand and hopes of getting the COD game on Game Pass significantly increased.
Since Xbox Game Pass was launched, no COD game has ever been released on this subscription service to access for free. So, the demand is valid for sure. However, neither Microsoft nor Activision ever said a word about the COD games coming to Game Pass, but a recent Call of Duty update hinted at the possibility.
The Latest Call of Duty Update is Giving Players a Ray of Hope that Their Favorite Game is Coming to Game Pass
Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service that allows players to access multiple renowned titles for free. However, not many Activision games appeared on Game Pass, including the Call of Duty series. While the hopes of the fans are almost shattered, the latest Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 new update brings some good news. The recent game update has fixed several bugs and errors, that to some extent hint at the game’s coming to Game Pass.
The Black Ops series is one of the most successful series of COD, running for several years. Activision has been enjoying the fanbase and success of these games, including Black Ops 2. Of course, like other COD games, Black Ops 2 received multiple updates throughout the years, but none ever attracted the attention of the fans.
Treyarch recently updated this decade-old shooter title and fixed a few bugs that used to prevent features like Emblem Editor and the COD TV. Fixing these things has impacted the game heavily, and made way for the assumption that this patch is probably a hint of the game coming to Xbox Game Pass. Fans are excited and predict that these fixes are for adding the game to Game Pass, so they can access it for free.
SUGGESTED: Call of Duty has a New Weekly Challenge that’ll Make You Feel Like a Gears of War Veteran
Phil Spencer, the Gaming CEO of Microsoft, once announced that the old Activision titles will come to Xbox Game Pass, but whether this will be applicable to Call of Duty or not is not sure. There’s no official announcement of any COD game coming to Game Pass as of yet.
However, a popular Activision title is on its way to making its debut on Xbox Game Pass.
Upcoming Activision Games on Xbox Game Pass
During a podcast, Phil Spencer once revealed that all first-party studio games will come to Xbox Game Pass on Day 1, which probably makes the upcoming COD title Call of Duty 2024: Black Ops Gulf War playable on Game Pass. However, this is still a rumor. Whether it will come or not can’t be said until the time comes. Amidst all these assumptions and predictions, Activision is launching one of its biggest titles on Game Pass in the final week of March.
Diablo 4 is going to be the first Activision game to be introduced on Game Pass. We are not sure about the reason for Diablo being the first game coming to Game Pass, but this will at least assure players that, even if not, COD, other renowned Activision titles will definitely come to the Xbox Game Pass in the future.
Call of Duty is not a free-to-play series. All the Call of Duty games come with a hefty price. So whether they will ever come to the free subscription service or not is still unsure, until any official announcement comes.
