Gears of War: E-Day Received Popularity for the Unique Twist – It Will Be a Prequel and Not a Sequel
Generally, installments come in a sequence in a gaming series where each continues the story of the previous one. Basically, they are sequels to the previous game. Gears of War can’t be claimed to be a series of well-connected games, but the incidents and events of Gears of War 4 have been taken forward in Gears of War 5. So, the expectation was that Gears of War 6 would wrap up all the unexplained things.
Technically, the sixth main installment in the series is named Gears of War: E-Day, and instead of wrapping up the events from the previous games, developers have taken players on a time-machine journey to the past, before the Locust attacks started. E-Day stands for Emergency Day and hints at the time when Locusts begin attacking the inhabitants of Sera.
So, Marcus Fenix fans will encounter a younger version of him in the upcoming installment and his gradual journey of becoming a Locust slayer to re-establish peace in Sera. This storyline didn’t get much appreciation from the entire gaming community, but most fans have welcomed it. So, the sudden removal of all the previous content has made them anxious.
