RPGs are at their peak. Since the massive success of Baldur’s Gate 3, this genre has received back-to-back amazing games, and it seems like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is going to continue this tradition. This game was revealed earlier this year at the Xbox Games Showcase in June. Well, after that, there were new updates from the developers regularly, but the recent trailer revealed more unknown aspects.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is developed by French studio Sandfall Interactive. The initial teaser of the game was impressive, and from that point, it has created excitement among gamers to give the game a try. It looks like there’s more to surprise them, and the latest trailer served this purpose successfully.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’s New Trailer Unveiled Multiple Secrets
Role-playing games are gaining more popularity with each triumphant game released. If you remember, the latest one, Metaphor: ReFantazio, has reached an unexpected height, where the game is being compared to the Persona series for its satisfying blend of real-time and turn-based battle systems.
Notably, the upcoming Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 also features realistic graphics paired with turn-based combat.
This trailer is packed with intense combat scenes along with an engaging storyline. At the end of the trailer, it says that the game will come in Spring 2025. So, the wait will be a little bit longer.
Importantly, this game will come next year to compete with some of the most anticipated games like Obsidian Entertainment’s Avowed and Sega’s Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.
The path to success won’t be easy, but it looks like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has already set the base with its stunning graphics, combat, and characterization, and gamers are overwhelmed by what they watched in the trailer.
It’s not that the developer only released a new trailer of the game, but it has shared more information about the game, including its voice cast.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’s Cast Has Some Familiar Voices
The exact release date of the game is not yet revealed, but Sandfall Interactive assured that whenever this game comes, players will get familiar voices ready to take them deep into the journey. The characters were already shown during these trailers, and the recent PlayStation Blog revealed the entire voice cast.
This list includes Charlie Cox, who’s hugely famous for portraying Daredevil in the MCU. In this game, he is voicing the protagonist of the game, Gustave. Going forward, players will hear Jennifer English, from Baldur’s Gate 3, as Maelle, and Kirsty Rider as Lune. She was previously featured in The Sandman.
Shala Nyx will be there to voice Sciel. If players have watched The Lord of the Rings, they must remember Andy Serkis. He is going to give his voice to Renoir in the game. Rich Keeble and Maxence Cazorla will also be there, though their characters aren’t yet revealed.
These are already enough to excite fans, but there’s another big name on the list, and that’s Ben Starr. He is widely renowned for his portrayal of Clive in Final Fantasy XVI. In the upcoming game, players hear him as Verso, a “lost, lonely, and dangerous” stranger who tracks every move of the expedition.
After going through the entire list, players are finding this game a potent Game of the Year contender for the voices it is about to bring.
When the game will come isn’t yet revealed, but it looks like it will give other renowned titles a hard fight for sure.
