Famous Twitch Streamer Mysteriously Got Banned For Using A Word That Violated the Rules of the Platform
On Friday morning, the news of NickMercs joining Dr Disrespect banned from Twitch circulated like a storm. This streamer has a successful streaming career, but while streaming Shadow of the Erdtree, the latest expansion of Elden Ring, he used a term that went against the regulations of Twitch. The streamer himself confirmed this matter and revealed that he used discriminatory language, which caused him the Twitch ban.
Well, the time frame for this ban is still unknown. Generally, streamers get banned for a month for using improper words. Well, this is the first time NickMercs has received a ban on Twitch, so his fans are hoping this won’t last long.
Surprisingly, this ban comes just after his friend and another renowned Twitch streamer, Dr Dishonest’s permanent ban controversy. He used to be considered the face of Twitch a few years ago, but Twitch authorities didn’t hesitate to ban him permanently for his offensive actions in 2020.
Anyway, Nick’s fans haven’t considered his ban logical. They instead got offended and started mocking Twitch with sarcastic comments. A lot of his fans commented that Twitch had heard the whisper of the streamer.

James “PhantomL0rd” Varga used to be a popular Counter-Strike: Global Offensive streamer and a renowned name in the Twitch community, with 1.3 million followers. However, in 2016, he suddenly received a ban, and later it was revealed that he used to own a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive gambling website, which he often promoted during his streams.
Surprisingly, most cases stopped once the streamer got banned, but in the case of PhantomL0rd, he took it further and sued Twitch for damages. He claimed $100 million. Though he won the case, in 2021, the damage money he received was only $20,000.
Well, NickMercs didn’t receive a permanent ban, so his fans shouldn’t be worried about his getting back on the platform. He will surely come back. It’s just that his followers need to wait for him to get his account back.
