Nexon has launched its masterpiece. Since their third-person shooter was announced, gamers have been waiting to experience the gameplay. The beta versions of The First Descendant ran a few times, with the final beta launched in May 2024. After testing the game thoroughly through beta, Nexon finally launched the official version of the game, which has created a record for them on Steam.

Nexon’s third-person shooter game is somewhere between Destiny 2 and Warframe. This game shares a lot of similarities with these two renowned series, and probably this familiarity has earned this free-to-play shooter unexpected popularity within a few hours of its official launch.

The First Descendant gameplay received an impressive response from players across the world soon after the official launch.

After a long wait, as soon as players received The First Descendant, they jumped into the experience without any second thought, and that’s the primary reason to push the game to be one of the most played Steam games in the last few hours. Almost immediately after the launch, as reported, the game started attracting an unexpected amount of players, which within two hours crossed over 170,000 concurrent players.

This incline is still not paused. Currently, as the Steam stats show, The First Descendant is trending on Steam with 228360 concurrent players. The table shows that the free-to-play shooter has reached its peak of the day with 229257 players playing it, making it the sixth most played game on Steam at this point.

However, new games are expected to bring new bugs and glitches. Nexon’s masterpiece is not an exception. Even after lots of trial runs, the game launched with a serious issue that Nexon almost immediately solved with a compensation reward for players.

Nexon fixed one of the most reported issues which was about to destroy the popularity of the game at launch within a few hours.

Purchasing in-game currencies using real-world currencies is one of the most common features that almost every shooter and battle royale game offers. These premium currencies are mostly used to buy cosmetic items to customize in-game characters. A similar feature has been added to The First Descendant. The premium currency is called Caliber.

The problem began when players started reporting that they had spent money but didn’t receive Caliber. This problem soon created frustration among players, as spending money and not receiving items is a serious matter. However, Nexon arrived at the right time and solved this issue within a few hours.

Initially, they assured players not to panic and that they would all receive Caliber if they had paid for it. A few hours later, an official tweet confirms that they have resolved the issue, and players will now receive Caliber within 10 seconds. However, the Twitch issue is still not solved, so it will take some more time to get free Caliber on Twitch.

In addition to that, the developer team added compensation rewards for players that they can get for the next three days. This list includes Gold Gain +30% Boost, Kuiper Shard Gain +30% Boost, Descendant EXP Gain +30% Boost, and Weapon Proficiency EXP Gain +30% Boost.

The First Descendant has set up a Steam record that Nexon probably never thought of achieving. However, as an avid gamer, you must be curious about other updates in the gaming world, and we recommend not to miss the new Hellboy surprise. This franchise has given players two surprises in a day.
