New Star Wars Outlaws Update Helps Ubisoft Gain Some Much-Needed Goodwill From the Fans
Ubisoft finally gets back on the fanbase's good side with the second Title Update for Star Wars Outlaws.
- Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft have launched Title Update 1.2 for Star Wars Outlaws.
- The patch brings plenty of improvements and additions that address many player complaints.
- Fans are quite happy with the second Title Update, as it has brought some much-needed changes.
As just over a month has passed since Star Wars Outlaws brought the very first open-world video game for fans of the popular franchise, it looks like Ubisoft is actually listening to the fanbase regarding its various complaints with the title.
Although 2024 has not been one for the developer’s highlights reel, the sheer popularity of the Star Wars IP ended up bringing a lot of players towards the game, making it somewhat of a standout experience, especially when compared to some of Ubisoft’s other misses this year. Perhaps the massive and constant backlash that it has received in recent times has pushed the studio to reevaluate some things, as it seems like the fans are quite satisfied with what the new Outlaws update offers.
The Second Title Update for Star Wars Outlaws Brings Some Important Technical Changes
Star Wars Outlaws may not have performed as well as Ubisoft might have hoped for commercially, but the publisher is ensuring that the fanbase that the Massive Entertainment-developed title has garnered is retained, with the second Title Update for the game releasing within two months of its launch.
Released earlier today, Title Update 1.2 includes some major technical changes that fans had been complaining about since August 30, with a special focus on various aspects of Kay Vess’ in-game vehicle, the speeder.
Along with some modifications to the camera setting on the speeder, the patch also addresses its overall responsiveness to keep it an effective mode of transportation throughout the game’s huge open world.
If there is one thing that Ubisoft has proven its supremacy in, it is the stealth elements in its video games, and the publisher has made sure that Massive Entertainment also prioritizes that “by adjusting AI detection, the number of NPCs and their positioning, patrol pathing, camera detection and highlighting environmental opportunities to reduce player friction.”
The update has also brought some minor fixes to other problematic instances that players have reportedly faced, including getting “stuck” on their way to Kijimi and the disappearance of the “Takeoff” button after a certain mission.
Ubisoft Finally Catches a Break With Its Fanbase, as Players Are Satisfied With the Patch
Even getting appreciated by developers of other renowned video games, Ubisoft seems to be on the right path with at least Star Wars Outlaws, as it has managed to satisfy the fanbase with Title Update 1.2 and its many additional features.
For starters, the addition of the quick throw button for grenades has been welcomed with open arms, as the process was too much of a hassle before the patch, making it extremely ineffective during intense situations.
The quality of an improvement patch becomes evident when different players express varied opinions about their favorite modifications, and the adjustment of the camera on the speeder was one of the most requested.
Despite not being a commercial success, the Star Wars Outlaws fanbase can rest assured that Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft will be paying close attention to its wants and needs, introducing important changes whenever they are deemed necessary to improve the overall experience.
