“New month new trash”: PS Plus Announces July 2024 Games and Disappoints Once Again
The PlayStation community isn't too fond of the upcoming additions.
PS Plus hasn’t had the greatest track record when it comes to the monthly games that it offers, with players usually finding the offerings underwhelming. Not only do the titles feel recycled, but even if they’ve never been added to the service before, they’re unable to pique player interest, resulting in criticism from the fanbase.
The disappointing tradition doesn’t seem to be ending, as the games for July 2024 have been announced, bringing three titles that not many gamers are too enthusiastic about.
Sports, Suspicion, and Shooting Makeup PS Plus July 2024 Lineup
With three games taking center stage and an item bundle as a small cherry on top, the PS Plus July 2024 lineup features titles from various genres.

Leading the way as a highlight, Gearbox’s Borderlands 3 is the first game on the list, as it stays true to the franchise’s roots while also adding its own vibrant flavor to the series.
Launched nearly seven years after the second Borderlands installment, it acts as a satisfying conclusion to a long-running story, and considering that it’s the latest entry in the series, the game feels like a worthy addition to PlayStation Plus.
Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the other two titles joining the subscription service, with EA’s NHL 24 being the second game that subscribers will get to add to their libraries. Considered to be a dull entry in the NHL game series, the ice hockey title doesn’t improve upon much over its predecessors, so its inclusion feels like a letdown.
To make matters worse, the last title in the lineup is one that may have been fun when it debuted, but it has lost steam through the years, as Among Us joins the shooter and sports games in July.
PlayStation Fans Aren’t Thrilled About the Announcement
A subscription service is only as good as the content it offers, and PS Plus has been lacking for some time, resulting in subscribers not finding enough value for money.
For example, Among Us can be bought for less than $5 on the PS Store, and although it turned out to be a hit six years ago at launch, there’s not much to look forward to in the game anymore, and fans seem annoyed by the less-than-stellar PlayStation Plus lineups.
Even the Genshin Impact item bundle that Sony is offering does not seem to be enough for players to be thrilled about the announcement.
While rival subscription services like Xbox Game Pass have already featured the likes of NHL 24 earlier this year, it is starting to seem like PS Plus is lagging behind the competition.
There are plenty of classic PlayStation experiences that fans want added to the subscription service, and with the continuously negative feedback surrounding PS Plus, Sony might need to rethink its future lineups.
