New Assassin’s Creed Rumors Suggest That Ubisoft Could Be Doubling Down on Its Past Mistakes
Assassin's Creed is going to get a new installment within a few months, but according to rumors, the plan is much bigger.
- Assassin's Creed is the most profitable Ubisoft series that once again will probably save the company's reputation.
- According to an insider, Ubisoft has multiple Assassin's Creed games in development.
- He mentioned that players can expect to get around ten Assassin's Creed games in the next five years.
Ubisoft is revising its plans to survive the pathetic failure. Not long ago, it used to be known for iconic series like Assassin’s Creed, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six, and Far Cry and was one of the most profitable gaming giants. However, the scenario has changed quickly after major failures like Skull and Bones, Star Wars: Outlaws, etc. To revive its previous glory and save its existence in the gaming world, Ubisoft will rely on its most profitable series, Assassin’s Creed.
Assassin’s Creed has always been one of the biggest franchises of Ubisoft therefore, it is not surprising for the company to turn to it in its worst state. However, recent leaks are suggesting that the plan is much bigger than expected.
Ubisoft Will Bring Assassin’s Creed Back More Frequently in the Coming Years
This French game developer and publisher company is going through a rather dark time. Starting from Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown to Star Wars: Outlaws, it has only faced failures this year. Therefore, when all the hopes are on the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the release date of this game was pushed to February 2025 as the developer team wasn’t ready to take any chance with it.
Despite the fight being hard as it will compete with super-hyped games like Avowed and Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, the team is ready to take this challenge up to make up for past mistakes. Not only that, it is reportedly trying to make a stronger comeback with a pirate-themed series.
Recently, on a podcast, an authentic insider, Tom Henderson, claimed that Ubisoft has a plan to release ten new Assassin’s Creed games in the next five years. Additionally, he mentioned that the French company is making a strategy to bring one game of the series “every six months or so for the next ten years.”
He even reported that Invictus will also be released in 2025 along with Hexe, and a Black Flag remake is under development.
The New Ubisoft Strategy Is Actually Returning to an Older One
This 2007-introduced action-adventure series is undoubtedly the gold mine for this French developer company. It has been a steady source of profit that has never disappointed the developer. Long-time fans of this pirate-themed series must remember that there was a time when they used to get two games of the series in a year, though not both of them were major installments.
Sometimes, even though these spin-off games were released on iOS and Android devices, the frequency was at least maintained. However, this chain was broken in 2015, and since then this widely popular series has gotten entries abruptly.
Now, if we go a little deeper, it’s clear that this frequency has contributed a lot to the success of these games. It has not only brought recognition to the title but has skyrocketed the profit. Therefore, it won’t be shocking if once again the developer returns to this same strategy to revive what it has lost in recent years.
At this point, these are all speculations with no confirmation surfaced about Ubisoft bringing two games of this pirate-themed series in a six-month interval for the next ten years. But, if it’s true, players will get twenty new games of the series in one decade.
