Blitz: Search and Destroy is one of the renowned missions in the game that may give players some difficulty. 

Helldivers 2 objectives are scattered through different planets, and in most cases, players must complete these missions within a pre-set time to successfully finish the mission. Blitz: Search and Destroy is one of these types of missions that must be completed within a fixed time, or you have to do it again. The task is tough, but with some guidance, it may be easy to complete.

Blitz: Search and Destroy Mission Objective, Timer, and Other Basic Details

If you have been grinding through the game, you must have already realized that the game has a few general missions, but most of the missions are faction-specific missions. To be precise, these missions either need to be completed on the planets where players need to fight Automaton enemies or on those planets where the opponents are powerful bugs. However, Blitz: Search and Destroy has both varieties to experience. Players can complete these missions on a planet full of robot enemies or bugs. 

When playing on an Automaton planet, the objective of this mission is to run around a facility and locate the Automaton Fabricators. To complete these tasks, first, make your way to any Automaton facility with a red light and start hunting enemies there. While doing these, be sure to spot the small buildings where Automatons emerge and fire will be emitted. Destroying these buildings will complete the mission, but there’s a catch. This entire process needs to be completed within 12 minutes.

However, if you have been playing this mission on a Terminid-based planet, the objective will be to run around the planet and spot Terminid Structures. Once you have located them, use weapons or Stratagems to seal the openings of these Terminind Holes as soon as possible. The time limit is the same. 

Similar to other missions, Blitz: Search and Destroy can’t be accessed with easy difficulty. Instead, the lower difficulty for this mission is Medium, and then it can go up to Helldive difficulty, which is the highest one in the game. The more you go up in difficulty, the more this mission will give you challenges to prevent you from completing it within the set time. So, players need proper strategies to make it simple.

Without understanding the objectives of a mission, if you dive into them, that won’t give you any benefits. Instead, it may cause trouble and elimination. So, before you jump into the mission, a few things should be taken care of. Among them, first comes planet and map selection. When you have a pre-set time for a mission, you must go with a planet that is familiar to you and comes with less fog.

Fog makes things a lot more difficult. It obscures vision and prevents players from locating the Automaton Fabricators or Terminid Holes on the map. In most cases, the Blitz missions require players to destroy five to seven Automaton Fabricators and nine Terminid Holes, and if you fail to locate them on time, your limit will surely be exceeded. Therefore, always choose the planet and the map carefully.

The next strategy is to equip proper Stratagems. Weapons and Stratagems are two key parts of completing the Blitz: Search and Destroy mission on time. Though any Stratagems can help you complete these missions, we recommend using Eagle Air Strike, Orbital Laser, Grenade Launcher, and Eagle 110MM Rocket Pods as your primary ones to explode the Automaton Fabricators faster. Even players can destroy multiple Automaton Fabricators simultaneously using these Stratagems.

The final strategy we suggest following is not to go alone. Blitz missions can be completed solo, but the recommended strategy is to go with a four-player squad to speed up the search and destruction process. These missions require players to call in extraction as soon as they destroy all the Automaton Fabricators. However, doing this alone is tough.

Therefore, what we recommend is to bring a team and initially split around to spot the Automaton Fabricators or the Bug Holes. First, focus on destroying the Fabricators or sealing the Bug Holes, but once you reach halfway, one of your teammates should rush to the extraction point. The remaining three team members should blow up the rest of the Automaton Fabricators or Bug Holes. 

Once that’s done, go to the extraction point, but in the meantime, your teammate who has reached the location beforehand can call the Pelican. The best method to complete the mission within time is to finish up this Pelican calling process within 11 minutes and 40 seconds. The Pelican will take around 20 seconds to leave the planet, and this timer will count toward the time of the mission. So, if you are late and your Pelican leaves after 12 minutes, your mission won’t be completed.

That’s more or less everything players need to know about completing Blitz: Search and Destroy in Helldivers 2. Remember, this mission is connected to the Gone In 360 Seconds Achievement. However, this Achievement can only be given to players when they are completing the entire task, including the extraction, within 6 minutes. If the Pelican takes more than six minutes to leave, things won’t work, and you will miss the trophy. So we recommend not trying to get this achievement while playing solo.
