“Looks so much better…”: One of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero’s Biggest Issues Has Been Fixed Pre-release, and It’s Only Increased the Hype
Character fusions? Check. Multiplayer split-screen? Check. Faithful recreations of character designs? Once again, check!
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is set to raise the bar for the Budokai Tenkaichi series when it launches in October this year. As a fighting game bringing the characters from the iconic manga and anime series to life on current-gen consoles, it is a highly awaited installment in the franchise.
Packed to the brim with features alongside an extensive roster of playable characters, Sparking Zero has had fans of its unique brand of combat in a frenzy ever since its announcement – and with good reason.
The Dragon Isn’t the Only One Granting Wishes
It’s evident that Spike and Bandai Namco have paid attention to what fans want and are all set to deliver a polished fighting experience with a host of features both new and old. With multiplayer split-screen gameplay already known to feature, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is shaping up to be a perfect blend of nostalgia and next-gen goodness.
While its list of features has indeed drawn praise, an area of the game that drew criticism from fans was its characters’ looks, with fans lamenting a few design choices by the developers that could potentially spoil the experience they promised to deliver. However, it seems that they were listening if a recent post is evidence.
Sparking Zero Could Be a Perfect Title for Dragon Ball Fans
In a post on Instagram, a Dragon Ball fan named sparking_gohan shared a revamp of Goku’s Super Saiyan 3 look alongside its original appearance in the game’s promotional materials, prompting a discussion on Reddit about how much of an improvement it was.
The post, from user artkarot (a nice play on Goku’s Saiyan name) can be found below:
It looks like the new look is a welcome change to the game and is sure to garner a lot of excitement in the coming day if comments on the thread are an indication.
Another fan could not see a difference although that could be a problem with their timing as opposed to a lack of detail on Spike’s part.
It’s likely that other characters could get a new design in the months leading up to the game’s release, while its Fused Warriors trailer confirmed that fusions are going to be a part of the experience.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero could very well be the definitive Budokai Tenkaichi experience that fans of the franchise have longed for.
