Lies of P captivated fans of Soulslikes with its unique setting and exhilarating combat.

While the showcase only features a single screenshot of protagonist P in a new environment looking at a distant tower, it has been enough to send fans of Neowiz’s work into a frenzy about its potential implications and the new story beats and content it is sure to bring to the table.

Their fervor is understandable considering that Lies of P was an excellent, finely-tuned title that tested its players’ skills to their limits while its RPG trappings allowed for the creation of builds that were not only effective in battle but a lot of fun to use against the backdrop of a city that had succumbed to a puppet uprising and a deadly disease all at the same time.

A unique take on an interesting setting allowed Neowiz to set its title apart from the competition.

With Black Myth: Wukong releasing to a ton of critical and commercial acclaim, the Soulslike genre has finally come into its own with studios other than FromSoftware able to craft experiences that match up to its best work while adding meaningful flourishes of their own that make them stand out. Director Hidetaka Miyazaki would be proud of what his unique brand of environmental storytelling and challenging combat has inspired.

The post below displays the screenshot from Neowiz in all its glory while responses to its announcement showcase the excitement that Lies of P fans are feeling at the prospect of getting a new chapter to what has been a solid title.

It is fitting that the studio chose to release the new screenshot on the anniversary of the game’s release. A response to the announcement shows how its players continue to support Neowiz on account of how excellent its recreation of the Belle Époque period was in addition to the game’s brilliant bosses.

Another player was quick to point out that Neowiz also had more for its fans over on its YouTube channel – a revelation that is sure to have many fans of its work giving its page a visit.

While details about the new DLC are scant, players would certainly hope it is of the same quality as The Old Hunters, a DLC chapter for Bloodborne that made fans of the base game fall in love with it all over again.
