“Let’s not pretend it’s good”: World of Warcraft: The War Within Doesn’t Seem Like the Strongest Start to the Worldsoul Saga Trilogy
World of Warcraft: The War Within started a brand new trilogy, but the opening doesn't seem to be a grand one to match the expectations of fans.
- World of Warcraft got its tenth expansion, The War Within, and players have already been stating negative reactions about the game.
- Even before the game was officially released, players who had pre-ordered it started expressing their opinions on Reddit.
- Mostly, players are not happy with the storyline of the game, as it seems the same every time, according to them.
It’s highly unlikely that MMORPG fans have never heard about World of Warcraft. Released decades ago in 2004, this game has been maintaining a fanbase that increases with every new update and expansion. To attract more players to the game, the developer puts in a lot of effort and brings innovative expansions. However, not all of them achieve the expected success. The latest installment seems to register itself on the list.
The War Within is the tenth expansion World of Warcraft has introduced, and fans have been expecting it for a long time. Since the expectations were high, players jumped into playing the game, but it seems like they almost instantly got disappointed.
The Beginning of the Worldsoul Saga Received Severe Criticism From Players
Released on August 26, World of Warcraft: The War Within marked the beginning of a new trilogy named Worldsoul Saga. Within the next few years, this expansion will be followed by two more expansions called Midnight and The Last Titan. Therefore, players have been expecting a lot from the game, but they are highly disappointed.
The story of this latest expansion takes players to a new subterranean realm called Khaz Algar, and this time, the campaign is focused on beating the primary antagonist of this trilogy, Xal’atath, the Harbinger of the Void.
Generally, the journeys in Azeroth are all exciting, but this time, it seems to be a little different. Soon after the pre-ordered access began, RokaiBill took the matter on the game’s subreddit and expressed that players should not pretend this game is good.
He expressed all the complaints he had. The post clearly reveals that he is not happy with a lot of characters, including Anduin, Magni, Alleria, and Faerin. He even questioned the roles of these characters in the game. In his view, the story is mediocre.
Surprisingly, a lot of gamers came to support his views, explaining what they felt the series was lacking.
The Worldsoul Saga Trilogy Fans Are Disappointed With the First Installment
It’s going to be a long way for Worldsoul Saga, but the beginning seems to be not the one that players have expected. Though Blizzard took enough time to work on this game, it messed things up as nothing seemed to have impressed fans about the game.
On Reddit, most players expressed the same opinion, calling the game out for bringing a similar story every time.
Some frustrated players even called it “World of Traumacraft” instead of World of Warcraft.
A few players complained about the NPCs, as they found them to be crybabies.
Players even found the storyline full of emotions and called it ‘feminine.’
Going forward, some players have found the side quests of the latest expansion interesting, though the main campaign has disappointed them throughout.
The Reddit expressions clearly stated that The War Within failed to impress fans.
No one praised it heartily. Therefore, the trilogy’s start can’t be called a good one.
Well, there’s time, and players may get some good content going forward, though they aren’t very hopeful about that.
