Shadow of the Erdtree has brought a whole new world for the players to explore. Like Lands Between, Land of Shadow also has a bucket full of mysteries to uncover, but the process goes through challenges and obstacles. So, as you start the journey, you must look for potent weapons in the game, and one of them must be the Blade of Mercy. This is a potent dagger to locate, but players can easily miss it if they are not careful enough.
Hearing the name Blade of Mercy may take the veteran FromSoftware players down memory lane as this dagger shares its name with a renowned Bloodborne weapon. However, the Shadow of the Erdtree version is different. It is a talisman. If you want to give it a try but haven’t yet figured out the location, go through our guide for a detailed walkthrough.
Know Your Gear: Obtaining Shadow of the Erdtree’s Blade of Mercy Will Punish All Enemies and Bosses Without Question
Weapons have been the top priority in Elden Ring, and since Shadow of the Erdtree was announced, fans had been excitedly waiting for the weapons the expansion was going to bring. Finally, the DLC has brought a long list of weapons that players can start acquiring in the early hours of the game. This is especially valid for the Blade of Mercy. So, we recommend that, as soon as you start your journey, look for this weapon and then proceed further.
Where to Find Blade of Mercy in Shadow of the Erdtree
When you start the Shadow of the Erdtree journey and step into the Shadow Realm, the very first region you will unlock is the Gravesite Plain. This is the location from which your endless exploration will begin, and like the base game, once again, the DLC will allow you to proceed in any direction you want. Before you choose the direction, we recommend progressing towards the northeast side of the Gravesite Plain Site of Grace.
After progressing for a while, you will locate the Scorched Ruins. The Blade of Mercy will be found at the top of the Scorched Ruins. If you are still not sure about the location, open your map, and you will find the ruin on it.
However, the journey to the destination will not be an easy one. Summon your horse and start progressing toward the ruin, and as soon as you reach the arch gates, an enemy with a goathead and two round blades jumps on you. As the first enemy of the DLC, it can surprise you with its aggressiveness and speed.
After fighting Elden Ring bosses, it is not at all tough to tackle this tiny opponent; still, if you are struggling to beat the enemy, you can equip the Rivers of Blood katana for this fight. If you remember, this is one of the strongest weapons from the base game. Equipping this will take only a few seconds to take this opponent down and progress further.
Keep going toward the ruin, and eventually, you will find a pillar to pick up the map of the region. In front of the pillar, a shadowed NPC will be found with whom you can interact. Once the interaction ends, go to the ruin and beat the shadow fighters outside. Take the stairs and start exploring the ruins. Eventually, you will come to a balcony area where you will see the roofs of the building covered with red cloth.
Watch out for the enemies, as they will now shoot projectiles. Once you take them down, take the stairs, and it will take you to another balcony-like area where, on your right side, you will find a red-cloth-covered building that takes you to the other side. Go to the other side of the ruin using the covered roof, and you will find a closed door on your left side. Open the door, and inside there will be a chest. Interact with it, and the Blade of Mercy Talisman will be all yours.
Stats of the Blade of Mercy in Shadow of the Erdtree: Can It Be a Good Weapon?
Those who have played Bloodborne must have been expecting something exciting from the Blade of Mercy in Shadow of the Erdtree. You will really be disappointed, as these two weapons differ not only in appearance but also in stats and nature. The description will clearly state that the dagger is now broken after it has claimed numerous lives. Also, this description mentions Hornsent, who used to be the owner of the dagger. Players will meet him a few feet away from the Scorched Ruin.
This may not be the best Shadow of the Erdtree dagger, but it is undoubtedly one of the best weapons to begin the journey. Throughout the early stages of the game, this can be your best companion for melee build as it allows players an increased attack power after each successful critical hit.
So, players can easily use this dagger for stealth kills with backstabs. If you can successfully backstab an enemy, which results in a critical hit, your attack power will get a substantial increase. Of course, this increased attack power won’t stay with you for the remaining journey, and it will go after a certain time, but as long as you have it, you can take down challenging enemies easily.
That’s everything to know if you are still looking for Blade of Mercy in Shadow of the Erdtree. If you have chosen a different way and missed the Scorched Ruin initially, don’t worry; you can get back any time to find the dagger.
Another very exciting part of the DLC is the bosses of the game. The trailers and demo have already revealed how challenging these bosses are going to be.
