Counter Strike has dominated the competitive FPS scene for more than 20 years. The game has kept millions of players engaged since the early 2000s and has revolutionized eSports for good. Recently, Valve released their newest game Counter Strike 2 as an update to the global hit Counter Strike Global Offensive (CS GO).

However, the latest entry to Valve’s FPS series has left many players with disappointment due to the abundance of cheaters in the game.

Counter Strike 2 is losing two of its biggest and best streamers.

The presence of cheaters in Counter Strike has been a persistent issue over the years with Valve trying its best to curb them and ensure fair play for all the players. The release of Counter Strike 2 was long overdue with many fans wanting a version of the popular FPS developed with the Source 2 engine. As soon as the game was released it was downloaded worldwide by millions of players. Since then numerous eSports competitions for Counter Strike 2 have been organized. Players and teams who left CS GO due to lack of any updates also made a comeback.

Although the game continues to be popular among players, many players feel that cheaters are ruining the experience for them.

According to the latest reports, two of the most popular Counter Strike players are leaving Counter Strike 2 due to the lack of fair play and the abundance of cheaters.

Anomaly, a popular player with 3 million subscribers on YouTube, has announced that he is leaving the game. He said on his channel,

There is just no way I can play Counter-Strike with the state that the game is in right now, and I’m not the only one. So many people, content creators included, are just absolutely fed up with the state that the game is currently in.

He went on to add, “I’ve been playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive since 2012 when the game was just in beta. And the state that the game is in right now with cheaters, is literally the worst it’s ever been“.

Anomaly isn’t the Only High Profile Player to Quit Counter Strike 2

Another popular Counter Strike 2 content creator Warowl, who has almost 1.5 million subscribers on YouTube said that he’s also quitting the game, ‘Until they fix the cheater problem.’

He added: ‘There’s a lot more cheaters in high-rated Premier matches [Counter-Strike 2’s main competitive mode], way more than there used to be.’

Warowl has been an avid Counter Strike player since the game’s earliest days. He has played all the titles from Counter Strike to Counter Strike 2. His statement is more concerning since he points out the prevalence of cheaters in high-rated Premier matches. If cheaters get away in these high-profile matches then the entire competitive factor loses its importance in the game.

Counter Strike 2’s problem with cheaters has become a huge deal for these two esports legends. Valve should quickly look into the matter and fix it as soon as possible before it causes irreplaceable damage to the popular FPS.
