“It was trash!”: Xbox Game Pass’ Launch on Amazon Fire Stick Isn’t Going Well at All for Microsoft
Xbox Cloud Gaming seems to not have pleased players.
It’s not going well for Microsoft, as back to back, its decisions are getting brutally criticized by players. Only a few days ago, Microsoft announced its partnership with Amazon, and together they are taking a historical step to take Cloud Gaming to a new height with the release of Xbox Game Pass on the Amazon Fire TV Stick.
From the outset, players were unconvinced by this decision, with their primary concerns being the quality of Xbox Cloud service and the stability of their internet connection. However, proving their assumption true, recently, on an X post, someone shared their gameplay experience.
Xbox Game Pass Launch on Amazon Fire TV Stick Went Extremely Wrong With Players Giving Negative Feedback
Xbox is trying to promote Cloud Gaming. For that, it has taken an innovative initiative with Amazon and launched an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription on Amazon Fire TV 4K Max and Fire TV Stick 4K. Once players download the app, they only need a subscription to Game Pass and a controller to stream Xbox games. However, the catch is that this entire process requires a high-speed, stable internet connection.
Though Microsoft has been expecting something big from this collaboration, it has turned out to be a total mess. The gamer claimed that they’ve tried playing Xbox games on Fire TV Stick 4K Max, and they described their experience as “trash.”
As soon as this post surfaced, other players started agreeing. One of them mentioned that Microsoft is desperate to engage people in the Xbox ecosystem.
Some players are mocking the quality of Xbox Cloud and comparing it to PlayStation’s service.
Another player shared their experience while making satirical comments toward those who thought this would be a win for Game Pass.
Some players even suggested purchasing consoles and not going for Cloud Gaming.
With the new Game Pass subscription charges, having a console won’t seem to be a cheap idea.
Microsoft Has Re-Organised Game Pass Tiers and Prices to Introduce Something New to Players
A few days ago, Microsoft announced that it had increased the price of Game Pass for both PC and console, along with introducing a new Tier. Though this has been a long-circulated rumor among Xbox gamers, none have thought of the way Microsoft has rearranged its subscription service. First, it has increased all the prices, and then it has removed one Game Pass tier entirely.

To begin with, Microsoft has removed the Xbox Game Pass Console tier and introduced the Xbox Game Pass Standard. It costs $14.99, but this tier won’t give players access to games on Day 1. Coming next, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate has been raised to $19.99 from $16.99. Even the PC Game Pass becomes $11.99 from $9.99.
All these changes have already been implemented for new users. However, veteran Game Pass subscribers will get some more time; they will get these higher-priced Game Pass tiers on September 12, 2024.
Though fans are not happy with this action, there’s nothing they can do. So, don’t get upset about this issue and go through the new demand that Helldivers 2 players have placed to fight toxicity.
