SUMMARY
  • PlayStation 5 is getting a new edition, PS5 Pro, in November, but there's a twist.
  • The console is set to be sold for $699.99, but this won't include two most important items that must be purchased separately.
  • The price range is already too high, and the exclusion of these two items has made players angry at Sony.

PlayStation is giving players back-to-back updates this month. On the 6th, first, players got the highly anticipated PlayStation-exclusive game Astro Bot. While players haven’t yet gotten over it, another update was released about the PlayStation 5 Pro. Sony announced the release date, but there’s still a catch.

Sony is all set to launch its upcoming PS5 Pro console editions this year. This new edition is not really going to be a successor to PS5, but an enhancement of the existing consoles. The excitement about the new edition has been among the PlayStation community for a long time, but one aspect created a sudden roadblock.

PlayStation Is Bringing PS5 Pro This November With Enhanced Visuals for PS5 Games

PlayStation 5 Pro finally got a release date and specifications elaborately explained during a live stream.

Sony has finally announced its new console edition. A few days ago, the X handle of PlayStation posted about a PlayStation Technical Presentation by Mark Cerny. This surfaced the assumptions of the PS5 Pro making its appearance in this presentation, and proving these assumptions right, Sony announced the PlayStation 5 Pro will be launched on November 7.

The announcement stated that preorders will start on September 26 and that it will cost $699.99, which is $200 more expensive than PS5, which was $499.99 in 2020.

The console’s outer appearance is mostly the same as the PS5, with the new addition of three horizontal lines on both sides. However, the lead architect of the PS5 mentioned that this upcoming edition will come with a larger GPU, advanced ray tracing, and AI-driven upscaling.

Among all these, the showstopper was the announcement of PSSR, or PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, which will give upscale frames up to 4K. This is going to enhance the graphics quality of PS5 games to a new level.

However, there’s something that went wrong amidst everything, and players have started pointing that out.

PlayStation 5 Pro, Even With This Hefty Price, Left Something Out

PlayStation 5 Pro is going to heighten the gameplay experience with improved visuals.

PlayStation 5 players are well aware that the console requires a stand, and the PS5 Pro won’t be an exception. That was not the issue, but the problem began with the statement that the vertical stands for the consoles would be sold separately. To sum up, the console stands are not included in the given $699.99 price.

Kris Wall brought this thing to light and posted the screenshot on X (formerly Twitter), stating that its exclusion feels unjustified especially considering the price.

This has made PS5 players upset and angry about the upcoming console. A lot of players were surprised to hear that they needed to spend almost $700 only for the console.

A few of them even called Sony “cheap” for selling stands separately.

Another player pointed out that the PS5 Pro’s announced price doesn’t even include a disc drive, and players need to purchase it separately, like the stand.

The price range and what Sony offers don’t match, which is making fans a lot more disgusted with the PlayStation 5 Pro.

However, the final reaction of the players will be seen when the console is released globally.
