There is no denying the level of impact that Elden Ring has had on the realm of video games ever since its initial launch more than two years ago. Not only did the FromSoftware action role-playing game manage to gather numerous high-profile awards at the majority of major events, but it also brought together a community of players who truly appreciate a challenge and do not want everything spoon-fed to them.

However, there are some members of the Elden Ring fanbase who believe that Hidetaka Miyazaki should turn things down a notch, and they are seemingly all set to make sure that the developer pays attention to their complaints.

FromSoftware Has Faced Its Fair Share of Angry Elden Ring Fans, but Never Like This

It looks like not everyone is a fan of the secrets that come with Elden Ring's massive open world.

A couple of days ago, on July 26, a member of the huge community that FromSoftware has created through its biggest video game yet gave the rest of the fanbase a reminder that “only two months remain” until they take Bandai Namco to court.

In a potential incoming lawsuit being filed by the fan against the publisher, the player claims that FromSoftware has been giving its community only “half” of the content that is actually present in the game, stating that “a whole new game is hidden inside.”

While some Elden Ring players take different approaches to complete the game and do not seem to have many complaints regarding its challenging and secretive nature, the fan behind the lawsuit states that the hidden areas are “too hard to access for even its most dedicated fans.”

In less than two months, you will be forced to realize game devs cater to crazy people because they have courage that you don’t, to explore the unknown world,” wrote the Elden Ring player as they gear up to handle things legally on September 25, 2024. It is not an unusual practice in video game development that not all content makes it to the final version of a title, regardless of the studio, since developers sometimes cut it for various reasons.

But this fan is adamant on the fact that inaccessible content was never really removed from Elden Ring and that “it is actually just undiscovered” and “unexplored” instead.

The Fan’s Rant Does Not Stop There, as Hidetaka Miyazaki Gets Brought Into the Mix

Hidetaka Miyazaki's words from years ago make a comeback in the lawsuit's supporting arguments.

A title does not become one of the most popular video games in modern times without a gigantic fanbase and a few individuals who make it their life’s mission to loathe the game, so naturally, Elden Ring fans responded to the lawsuit by calling it an unnecessary rant that just does not make any sense.

SUGGESTED: Love Elden Ring, but Miss Bloodborne? Graceborne’s Got You Covered

Completely unfazed by the voice of reason, the player frustrated at FromSoftware and Bandai Namco Entertainment has brought back some of Hidetaka Miyazaki’s comments from the past, stating that this kind of reaction is exactly what the director would have wanted.

Claiming that Miyazaki “wanted the players to break the shackles of humanity” since the Bloodborne days, the fan countered other players calling them “insane” by justifying their insanity because, according to them, this is what the FromSoftware president was aiming for all along.

It seems unlikely that Bandai Namco Entertainment will entertain a random lawsuit like this one, and with the recent triumph of Shadow of the Erdtree, maybe it does not really need to.
