“I will be super disappointed”: Starfield Fans Point to Skyrim As Proof Bethesda Will Follow in Helldivers 2’s Footsteps
Bethesda Game Studios is known for its subtle nods to upcoming content in its games. Could that be the case for Starfield too?
With Starfield’s new DLC expansion Shattered Space inching ever closer to its release, fans of the original game are eagerly watching out for details that could reveal what they could expect from the new DLC. While a trailer for the expansion was released, it certainly was not enough to sate Starfield fans’ thirst for more details about what to expect when it releases.
However, a few fans are optimistic about new content in the game that would change the way players currently approach its many systems, looking to other titles such as Skyrim and even Helldivers 2 as examples for how subtle details in the base game could mean great things for the upcoming DLC.
Starfield’s Mysterious Clues for Shattered Space
Many Starfield fans are taking to Reddit to post theories about what the new DLC could include as new content. A recent post about a secret meeting between important crew members on the player character’s ship created a lot of speculation over how players get to visit House Va’runn’s capital city of Dazra, for example.
A similar post from another player showcases how details strewn around the environment could be an indication of the direction that Shattered Space could be taking when it releases in Fall 2024 in a manner similar to Helldivers 2’s purported introduction of The Illuminate faction later this year.
Could Mechs Find a Place in Shattered Space?
The Reddit post in question showcases how mechs could make an entry into Starfield’s established universe despite them being frowned upon by the game’s major factions.
The player seems to believe that the sheer number of unused mechs in a game whose lore seemingly banned their use for a long time is an indication that they are likely to find a purpose in the new DLC. You can check out their post below:
It’s a move that would certainly make sense for Bethesda Game Studios considering that the assets and designs for mechs have clearly been created and are present in the game.
Another player responding to the post seems to think that the studio is likely to follow in the footsteps of Skyrim, whose DLC introduced new factions that were unexpected at the time.
Mechs could certainly switch things up for Starfield considering the taboo around their use among the game’s warring factions. Either way, with Shattered Space being literally around the corner, fans of the game won’t have to wait too long to find out!
