SUMMARY
  • Helldivers 2's latest Major Order wants players to protect the liberated planet for a few more days, as Automaton enemies will still attack it to reclaim their possession.
  • This sounds exciting, but players are totally unhappy with it, as they have been completing bot missions for a while already.
  • However, Arrowhead has loads of new plans with the DSS system introduced to the game.

Only a few games reach the peak of popularity that Helldivers 2 did. Released back in February 2024, Helldivers 2 has taken players on an adventurous journey where the threat of bugs and bots is constant. However, soon, Arrowhead started doing things that made the progress of the game rough and full of criticisms. Unfortunately, this trend is still going on.

Helldivers 2 has lost its player count in recent times, but this hasn’t stopped Arrowhead from bringing new updates to the game. Each new update adds some fresh content to the game, but not all of it pleases gamers. Instead, some get utterly negative responses.

Helldivers 2 Players Are Exhausted With the Latest Major Order

helldivers 2 mission completion
The latest back-to-back bot missions have exhausted Helldivers 2 players about diving into them once again.

Initially, when the game was released, players enjoyed the Major Orders. However, with time, things started getting monotonous for them, and complaints started taking the place of praise. Well, still, Arrowhead brings new Major Orders every time, and the recent one tasked players to choose a Democracy Space Station, and the next step asked them to liberate a deep-mantle mining tech from the Automaton planet Claorell.

Now that the task is peacefully done, the game wants players to continue protecting planet Claorell for three more days, as the Automaton force has not yet received the news of liberation and will keep attacking the planet.

Therefore, the task is basically to protect the liberty of Claorell from three major bot attacks during the next three days. This has happened for the first time in Helldivers 2’s history, but even before this task appeared, players did not find this Major Order exciting at all. Most of the Helldivers 2 players are finding back-to-back bot missions frustrating.

Several players are looking for a change, and that’s why they are leaving the Automaton planet and moving on to a different planet for some time.

The repetitive bot missions bored them so much that they now want to jump into Major Order missions related to bugs.

This negative response from the fans may bring some change to these constant bot missions, but there is more content that Arrowhead announced regarding the Democratic Space Station.

Arrowhead Promised to Bring Something Bigger With the Democratic Space Station in Helldivers 2

helldivers 2 completing mission objectives
It seems like Arrowhead has much bigger plans ready to be introduced in Helldivers 2.

Since Helldivers 2 was released, Arrowhead has promised a lot of things that often disappointed players. Therefore, to some extent, they lost trust in the developer. However, with the new Democratic Space Station, or DSS, once again, the team assured players that it would become a “powerful strategic tool for reshaping the Galactic Map.”

The latest Major Order has kicked off the first four Construction Phases to initiate the opening of DSS. Once these phases end, players are supposed to get a gigantic structure that even surpasses the iconic Super Destroyer battleships.

Arrowhead mentioned that the DSS will be a strategic-level weapon once it is fully constructed with “powerful, Helldiver-directed weaponry to aid in the liberation of it’s orbited planet.”

The game will also get a “cutting-edge voting system” to determine where to place the DSS and when to use the abilities of this immensely powerful system.

This sounds interesting that now players will finally get a powerful system and can decide where to position it to fight for Democracy. Players even started speculating that it would further bring new types of Major Orders or multi-planet ones.

The introduction of DSS and its gradual construction may become the massive turning point for Helldivers 2 after months of tough times and loads of criticism.
