7 Days to Die is among the most motivating success stories in modern gaming. With the launch of the game’s 1.0 version, developer The Fun Pimps has reached the end of a journey that first began in 2013, bringing its creation to life on current-gen consoles and PC while fans of the game have dived right back into the survival horror title with unabashed glee.

However, that glee has been accompanied by some nostalgia, as the game has seen many changes and revisions to its original release with some items that players were accustomed to being removed in order to fine-tune the experience. While many of these changes have been well-received, some of them have fans of the original title fondly looking back at items they miss while making amusing memes about them online.

7 Days to Die’s 1.0 release marks the end of a very long road for The Fun Pimps and its fans.

The Fun Pimps has managed to create a title that withstood the test of time since the original game’s launch in 2013 with a simple premise that carried the scope for a game that was as addictive as it was terrifying.

Tasking players with exploring a detailed open world and overcoming a host of obstacles and enemies in order to build their defenses to withstand a vicious assault by enemy groups, 7 Days to Die’s post-apocalyptic world found a lot of takers in the past and continues to do so even today.

But some of the changes that were made to the game along the way have raised a few players’ eyebrows, prompting them to express their opinions in creative ways – with one such player choosing to bring in a tongue-in-cheek reference to a recently released Marvel film.

A visual overhaul and revised mechanics may not be enough to keep fans of the original game happy.

The player in question is clearly a Wolverine fan and with the release of Marvel’s Deadpool & Wolverine, they chose to lament the removal of glass jars from 7 Days to Die with a hilarious throwback to a popular Wolverine meme in which the character pensively looks at an old picture.

While the original meme was from the pages of an old comic, this player cleverly used Hugh Jackman’s version to bring a modern touch to the classic image.

While glass jars may not seem like a big deal for many modern games, 7 Days to Die’s unique gameplay loop calls for gaining every possible advantage by using items that players find through exploration and applying creative ideas to build their defenses against zombie hordes.

Glass jars formed an important part of many players’ strategies in the original game and their removal in the 1.0 release has left many players understandably annoyed at their exclusion.

From other responses to the post, it seems that glass jars were just the tip of the iceberg.

These exclusions have made fans of 7 Days to Die feel like the new release may not be worth the wait, despite a visual overhaul and balancing changes that make the game feel on par with modern day releases.

However, The Fun Pimps could hopefully roll back some changes based on player feedback through future patches or updates.

That’s something that many fans of the game would hope for even as they continue to inject some humor into their discourse!
