In Dragon’s Dogma 2, players have been curious about the character classes the most as they play an important role in the progression of the game. Character class is one of the most common RPG features and Capcom successfully designed all these vocations in the game to give all of them some unique abilities to help players make their way forward. The game has a total of 10 vocations available and among them only the initial four can be accessed by default. All remaining ones need to be unlocked and Warrior is among them.

Warrior is one of the most popular and powerful vocations of the game which can be unlocked comparatively earlier in the game. They possess the hardest hits of the game, but unless you are aware of the exact method to unlock this vocation, players won’t be able to use them. So, if you are still trying to figure out how to unlock the Warrior vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2, this guide will give you a complete walkthrough of the process.

The one and only way to unlock the Warrior Vocation is to complete the Vocation Frustration quest and deliver a greatsword to Klaus at a Vocation Guild. Though this sounds easy, the process is quite lengthy and complicated. So, let’s check out the steps one  by one.

Dragon’s Dogma 2- Getting the Vocation Frustration Quest

Quests have always been an integral part of action role-playing games and Dragon’s Dogma 2 is no exception. The game features a massive open world consisting of numerous locations to explore and the main storyline of the game will take players to the major cities to complete various tasks. So, as you start your journey, you will eventually reach one of the major cities of the game Vernworth.

Vocation Frustration Quest Acquiring Process

The first time you arrive at Venworth, make your way to the Venworth Vocation Guild, which is one of the earliest Vocation Guilds of the game. Once you are there, you will find an NPC named Klaus at the counter. Interact with him and you will receive the Vocation Frustration quest.

This quest has two different parts and each part will allow you to unlock a new Vocation. If you are trying to unlock the Warrior vocation, you need to find a Greatsword for Roderick the Blacksmith.

Once you get the quest, it is the time to make your way to the Blacksmith and then to the location where the sword is located.

After you receive the quest, the first thing you need to do is to go to Roderick the Blacksmith. You will find the Blacksmith’s shop at the town square with the crossed swords icon. Interact with the owner and he will mark on the map the location of the Greatsword. Open the map and you will see Trevo Mine is marked and is the next destination.

The Trevo Mine is located at the northwest of Vernworth. Once you reach the location, first take out the goblins that block your path. Now, enter the mine and start following the narrow path that leads to the large rock staircase. Climb up the stairs, and  follow the path forward. Soon, you will come to a small room with two ways to progress. You can either choose to go straight, or you can enter the small door.

The original solution is not to follow any of these two paths. Neither go straight, nor enter the door. Instead, on the right side of the room you are standing, you will find a pile of junk items. Search the pile and open the chest to find the Greatsword. As soon as you get it, go back to Klaus and in exchange, you will unlock Warrior vocation. However, before returning from the mine, you can explore the entire mine to gather all valuable items from there.

Now, a problem some players may face is that they have already sold the greatsword required for the quest. This is a common scenario for those, who aren’t aware of the importance and have found it during their regular exploration. Don’t be upset, even if you have sold it. Make your way to the Checkpoint Rest Town which is located at the border of Vermund and Battahl, and purchase the greatsword from there to unlock the Warrior vocation.

Now that you have completed the quest and unlocked the Warrior vocation, players must be curious to know the strength and weakness of the vocation.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Warrior Vocation Strengths and Weaknesses

All Dragon’s Dogma 2 vocations have their specific strengths and weaknesses. Not every vocation is capable of everything. So, players need to have a good knowledge of these abilities, so they can easily determine when to use them. For example, the best part of the Warrior vocation is their hard hits. Characters from this vocation wield a massive Greatsword that they swing slowly, but it deals heavy damage to the opponent. It is equally effective against a group of enemies and powerful bosses.

Another incredible ability that Warriors have is their ability to close gaps faster. Warriors can close the gap between them and the enemy when the length of their sword gets combined with some specific core skills. Along with that, their charge attacks are unparalleled. All in all, Warriors are heavy-damage dealers who can take down challenging enemies faster.

While this vocation has lots of positive points, they even have a few negative points as well. Though they have excellent attacking stats, their defense pathetically lacks. The Warriors have a slow movement speed. Each time they take 2 to 3 seconds to swing their sword. It is a great opportunity for the enemies to land an attack. Additionally, the parry timing of this vocation is complicated and hard to master.

Finally, among the two biggest problems of this vocation, the first one is the positioning. Positioning is one of the basic and key aspects of landing a successful shot. However, due to their slow movement speed, Warriors find it difficult to get a proper position to attack the enemy, as they can’t even escape faster. Lastly, Warriors lack elemental attacks. So, they always require their Pawns to do it during a fight.

That’s everything players need to know about how to Unlock the Warrior Vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Despite these issues, Warriors will be one of the best choices for most of the combats.
