So, if you are at an early stage of the game, this vocation will not be available to you at this point.

To begin with the process, players need to unlock the third continent of the game Agamen Volcanic Island. Like almost every other vocation, Magick Archer needs players to complete a specific quest named, ‘Put a Spring in Thy Step’. Players will get this quest by interacting with an NPC named Gautstafr, whom you will find on your way to go to Agamen Volcanic Island.

Agamen Volcanic Island can be accessed simply by progressing through the main story of the game. However, the fastest way to reach the pace is through Drabnir’s Grotto. As soon as you enter Battahl, make your way to the southwest section of the region, and eventually, you will reach this dungeon. Despite it being one of the toughest dungeons of the game, this one requires no additional quest or activity to be unlocked. So, players can access it anytime they want. 

We recommend not trying to explore the dungeon if you are below level 25. However, for players who are at level 25 or higher, Drabnir’s Grotto is nothing challenging as it features only a few Cyclopes inside. They will be a little more difficult than the ones you have fought until now. Before entering the cave, players will get a warning from an NPC about the enemies they will face inside.

Dragon’s Dogma 2- How to Complete the Put a Spring in Thy Step Quest

The quest has three objectives, first players need to find some flowers and look for Gautstafr in his home; second, they need to go to Gautstafr’s house and meet his wife. Finally, players have to escort him to the hot spring. So, let’s complete them one by one. For the flowers part, players can choose any three different flowers to present him. There is nothing mentioned in the game, so, look for three different types of flowers and give them to the NPC. 

Now that, you have given him the flowers, he will start complaining about you not visiting his house. So, the next task is to go to his house. The location will be automatically marked on the map. Follow the map location and reach the residence of the NPC where players will meet his wife, Cliodhna. Interact with her and you will get the next task of escorting Gautstafr to the hotspring.

This task is relatively tough. The hot spring is located at Volcanic Island Camp. players can choose any path they want to reach their destination, but one thing they need to be sure of is that they are not leaving Gautstafr behind and moving away. Anyway, don’t worry, you will get alerts whenever you are leaving him behind on the journey. The hot spring is at the south side of the map and once you reach the location, his wife will pop out to thank you. She will offer to teach you her ways and thus unlock Magick Archer vocation.

Magick Archer Vocation Strength and Weaknesses in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Magick Archer is one of the finest vocations of the game with their dominance in long-range combat. However, the two most effective offensive abilities of this vocation are their use of elemental damage and inflict debilitations. They bring versatility to the vocation. Most importantly, their arrows rarely miss the target.

The best and most impressive ability of this vocation is an incredible lock system that can simultaneously lock multiple enemies to deal damage to all of them together. Like Megs, this vocation doesn’t need precession aiming as they can automatically lock onto enemies within a certain range. Additionally, the targeting system of Magick Archer vocation can lock onto the vulnerable parts of a giant boss.
