Rise of the Ronin Co-op Multiplayer System Details
The co-op multiplayer system in Rise of the Ronin can be activated by choosing between two methods. The co-op can be activated at the Longhouse via the “Cooperate“ option and at the start of key missions. Players must remember that the co-op system has its limitations. The multiplayer system doesn’t allow you to invite your friends and hang out with them like in Red Dead Online. The multiplayer option is only available for bringing in friends to help you deal with a particular challenge or boss.

At the beginning of the game, players get the choice to select their difficulty level. Depending on the difficulty level in Rise of the Ronin, they will experience hard battles, some of which require patience and skills. If you are still struggling with a particular mission, it is possible to team up with other players. Once you are done with the challenge, your friend won’t continue to remain by your side.
You will be able to bring back your friend again during another mission. In this guide, we will discuss in detail how players can use co-op in Rise of the Ronin.
How to Play Co-op in Rise of the Ronin
The co-op option won’t be available to you at the beginning of the game. You will have to get past the Prologue and first mission. After the first mission is over, get going with the second one by following your Blade Twin. You will be asked to complete a section where you will have to visit the Pleasure District and meet Taka Murayama.
After the conversation with Ryoma, he’ll ask you to return to him. You will have to meet Ryoma outside a Longhouse in Yokohama that he’s got for you. Once the meeting is finished, you will be entrusted with the Longhouse. Now you’ll be able to access additional Longhouses in other regions. These Longhouses will give you access to a lot of activities in the game, like respecing your character, relaxing with your companions, and changing your character’s appearance.
Players will be able to access the co-op option after entering the Longhouse. Once you enter this place, an automatic menu will appear where you will be able to find the Cooperate option. Look for the Talk option in this menu, and you will find Cooperate right below it.
After finding the Cooperate option, click on it, and a new breakout menu will appear that has three options:
Join: By choosing this option, you will be able to join a lobby without any conditions, meaning you are open to playing with random players on any difficulty, mission, and in any region.
Recruit: This option will allow you to invite players to join you on missions. You will get customized options to set the difficulty, mission, and region. There are other customizations available in this option, like having the two ally slots open for anyone, or you can choose to have the invite-only option for friends. The Recruit option also allows you to set a password, allowing only players with the password to join you.
Match: This option is best suited for you when you want to join another lobby to play Rise of the Ronin. By selecting this option, you will be able to join other groups by searching for specific conditions, such as a particular mission, difficulty, and region.

Joining the lobby or inviting people is also available later on if you don’t want to do it at the Longhouse. The option will be available to you and can be accessed later on. The option to cooperate and choose allies will be available on these menus as soon as you begin a mission.
Rise of the Ronin gives players a fair amount of control over choosing the lobbies they join and set up. They are given the choice to decide on open matchmaking versus invite-only, adding passwords, level restrictions, and so on. The best way to access the “recruit” feature is by starting a key mission from the Longhouse.
Once you have chosen the option to recruit, send out a call for help that other players can answer from their longhouses. Playing multiplayer in Rise of the Ronin unlocks a variety of rewards, including Silver Coins and Karma.
The multiplayer option in Rise of the Ronin adds a new dimension to the action-adventure world of feudal Japan. Players get to participate in the battles with their friends, which eases their tasks a little bit while giving them the thrill to slay enemies in style. The developers have made sure to recreate every aspect of the action-filled Edo period for players. So, playing with other players makes the experience richer and more spectacular.
