How to Get the Half Bow and Longbow in Ghost of Tsushima
Although Ghost of Tsushima provides some weapons as default, players still have to earn certain special weapons that grant them extraordinary skills while fighting enemies. Players are given the default sword kit which includes a deadly katana that can easily slice through the bones of their enemies. This default sword is named the Storm of Clan Sakai (named after the clan of the game’s protagonist Jin Sakai).
The two most sought-after weapons in the game are the Half Bow and Longbow. While engaging in close combat the swords in the game come in handy but there are certain instances where you will have to strike down a long-distance enemy. Also, there are several advantages of using a bow since it feels very intuitive to use and help a lot while lining up multiple shots. Using a bow also results in a 75-80% success rate while getting a headshot.
Where to find the Half Bow and the Longbow in Ghost of Tsushima
As Jin Sakai begins his journey on Tsushima Island he gets around his way with a katana and broken armor. However, the developers had made sure that players can unlock new weapons in the game to help them when the going gets tough. In this guide, we will give you some tips to help you get the Half Bow and Longbow in Ghost of Tsushima.
The world of Ghost of Tsushima is massive and takes a lot of time to explore. The Half Bow and Longbow can only be gained after completing certain quests. Once the exploration begins it’s difficult to get hold of special weapons that are available after finishing certain quests. So, it’s better to get those weapons earlier in the game. Since a ranged weapon gives you an upper hand in certain instances it will help you a lot if you get these two weapons as quickly as possible.
Finding the Half Bow in Ghost of Tsushima
The first thing you will need to do is start the quest The Tale of Sensei Ishikawa. You can start this quest by traveling to Hiyoshi Springs on the east side of the map and once you reach there inquire about Sensei Ishikawa. Just remember to start this quest as soon as the prologue ends.
Sensei Ishikawa can be found in his dojo and you will have to follow him till the end of his quest to earn the Half Bow. As soon as his quest finishes Ishikawa will hand over the weapon to you. Once you have earned the Half Bow you will be able to rapidly fire arrows and it can also be upgraded to make it more lethal.
The Half Bow becomes more fierce when it is equipped with Fire Arrows. These arrows can be earned by completing Sensei Ishikawa’s side quests. Once these quests are finished the Sensei himself will reward you with these arrows for your Half Bow, making you an even more fearsome enemy for the Mongols.
Finding the Longbow in Ghost of Tsushima
The search for the Longbow begins in Hiyoshi Springs. But unlike the quest for the Half Bow, you will have to be a little careful while completing your missions. Bear in mind that rushing through Act 1 and going into the second region won’t make the quest available for you. So, it’s important to head to the correct location first.
Come back to Hiyoshi Springs after finishing The Warrior’s Code, The Tale of Ishikawa, The Tale of Lady Masako, and Blood on the Grass. Once you have reached the specified location you will be able to hear rumors of a storytelling musician. Find the musician by heading to the other side of the Bamboo Strike house situated above the main inn.
Here you will be able to accept the Mythic Tale also known as The Curse of Uchitsune. Once the quest starts you will be assigned to track down areas consisting of purple flowers. You will be able to get hold of the Longbow on completion of the task. However, once you get the legendary weapon you will have to face off in a duel. After the end of the duel, you will now be able to use the Longbow to kill your enemies.
The Longbow is a powerful weapon and is capable of piercing through the armor and helmets. Another feature of the Longbow is it automatically zooms in when you draw an arrow. By firing Explosive Arrows with the Longbow you can decimate large areas.
The Longbow and the Half Bow are very useful weapons in the game. By adding these lethal weapons to your inventory you will have a huge advantage while traversing through Tsushima Island. These bows not only add power to your inventory but also help in hunting down enemies who can be brought down with the sword.
