A new spin on Call of Duty: MW3 Zombies gameplay.

One of the Aether Rift rewards in Call of Duty: MW3 Zombies is the Sergeant’s Beret, an equipable item that makes infiltrating enemy camps a breeze. It essentially disguises you as an enemy Sergeant and even assigns a Bodyguard to fight alongside you in combat.

But getting to the Schematic for this handy item can be challenging if you don’t know where to look. Getting to the Sergeant’s Beret Schematic can be challenging, requiring you to complete a series of difficult missions and Easter egg challenges with multiple encounters against Elite enemies along the way.

Getting this Rift up and running takes time and effort.

The Aether Rift you will need to enter is at E4 on your map. There are four pedestals nearby, each of which requires an item at a specific rarity level to be placed on it. It’s time to begin putting everything we need together. To begin with, completing the Act 4 Union Story Mission is a prerequisite to unlocking the Rift, so make sure you have that wrapped up.

The first item needed to unlock the Rift is the Giraffe Toy, which is easily obtained by completing the Act 4 Union Story Mission. Remember to stow it away in your inventory once you get it, as it requires no upgrade. Note that it is recommended to hold on to every item until you are ready to place them on their pedestals.

Next on our list is the Imaginary Friend Drawing, which can be found at I7 on your map. A building at this location has a bedroom on its second floor with a container underneath. A Stronghold Keycard might be needed if the building is occupied by mercenaries. Lie down and interact with the container to get to the Reward Rift holding this item. It requires an upgrade, which we will get to after we have the remaining items on our list.

The next item to collect is the Laptop with Stickers, which you can obtain by killing a Sergeant at any mercenary camp with a Hellhound. The final hit must come from the hound to unlock the item. The process to upgrade it remains the same as the previous one, albeit at a different location.

The last item on our list is the Science Journal, which is in the purple tornado over at the Stormcaller Boss location. Simply head inside with a Gas Mask equipped and kill 50 zombies inside the circle. Wait for the Tier 1 Zone to turn neutral before heading on over to the Reward Rift, where you can collect the item.

There’s a little more to do before the Sergeant’s Beret Schematic is yours.

With all of the items you need now collected, it’s time to upgrade them. With the exception of the Giraffe Toy, each item requires you to solve an Easter egg puzzle in which you find a purple triangle on the ground in an area, stand on it, destroy three purple runes, and align the lines that appear into a triangle. Doing so makes a Summoning Circle appear, which brings a fight against some zombies along with an Elite Boss. The areas you need to visit in order to get the above items are F5, F4, and E4, respectively.

Prepare to face off against Elite versions of Special Zombies, Mimics, and Hellhounds as you collect the upgrades. With everything you need in hand, head on over to E4 and place the items on their pedestals to unlock the Rift. You will need to play its contracts until you obtain an Elder Sigil, which unlocks the Dark Aether version of the Rift.

The Dark Aether version of the Rift reduces the time you have to complete its Contracts to just 15 minutes but drops one of the three Schematics as a reward. You get either the Sergeant’s Beret, the Dead Wire Detonator, or the Golden Mask, making it worthwhile to farm this Rift until you have them.
