The Iki Island expansion in the Director’s Cut of Ghost of Tsushima offers some of the coolest content to the players. The expansion allows players to unlock some exciting cosmetic items as they venture into the newest chapter of Jin Sakai’s journey. The Iki Island contains a special item that all players will be excited to get their hands on. On the island, players will be able to find an armor set themed after the God of War franchise.

How to Find the Shrine of Ash on Iki Island

The Iki Island houses three Wind Shrines which unlock exciting cosmetic rewards for the players. To make things more exciting, the developers have created each reward by taking inspiration from a major PlayStation-exclusive game. Players will be able to adorn these cosmetic rewards while vanquishing Mongols on Iki Island. However, getting these rewards isn’t easy since players will have to solve complex riddles to unlock these three armor sets.

The God of War (2018) themed armor can be unlocked by solving the riddle in the Shrine of Ash. Players will be able to find the Shrine of Ash near the eastern coast of Iki Island. It is located just south of the river delta, near Tatsu’s Ladder. Once you have reached there, look for the shrine set into a hill. The shrine set can be approached from the west, and there you will see stairs leading down. This area can be easily distinguished by the white birch trees.

Once you have reached the area, you will be able to find a Marked Tree. This tree can be recognized by its white color and the yellow hand on it. At the base of the tree, you will find a chain. This has been inspired by the 2018 reboot of God of War, and players can easily find it due to its unique aesthetics.

How to Solve the Shrine of Ash Puzzle

The quest for the puzzle begins by following the trail of the scattered chain mentioned above. Once you reach the end of the chain, you will be able to scroll. Next, pick up the scroll and read it. The scroll says:

“In fall, a tree fruits which grow from seed to sapling, a stranger and son. Boy, honor your father’s fight. Show him the strength of your blade.”

These riddles aren’t very straightforward, and players might find them challenging. Don’t worry, though we have made them simple for you. The riddles guide the players in two directions, as one of them gives a hint on what Jin Sakai should wear and the other tells him to decide his next course of action. If one pays close attention, the riddle tells players to wear the Sakai Clan Armor by referencing the story of a stranger and a son.

Since the Sakai Clan Armor was originally worn by Jin’s father, this is the armor that players must wear. The hint in the end talking about the “strength of the blade” is telling players to draw their swords. Swipe right on your controller to bring out your sword from the sheathing.

As soon as you bring out the sword, a brief cutscene will be played out where Jin’s armor will be dyed and he will be given a new helmet and mask. At this moment, your speakers will be blasted with the music of Ghost of Tsushima’s soundtrack, which is blended with the iconic track of God of War (2018).

After solving the puzzle, players will be rewarded with three items- the Helm of War, Spartan Mask, and Ghost of Sparta dye for Sakai Clan Armor.
